Is there a possible way to reset the computer or the DIC/ECC that would probably fix my dashboard lights that are blank including the DIC?

resetting codes won't do it, i don't think, but check fuses, as i'm sure you already have. you can clear your codes... just hold warm and off and wait for ecm? to pop up. scroll through the options on that (pressing warm i think) until you get to ecm clear codes. you can clear those and all other codes if you want.

No you see.....My DIC is blank....it is all blank...that and my dash lights that contains the speedometer and milage......what can be the main problem with that? All of the fuses are good. Is there a light bulb somewhere in there that could be out or something light that? Also...How do I remove the Dashboard and the Bezel?

happened to my 88 Deville when I tried to install an aftermarket radio. I shorted the BCM ( body computer module) located behind the glove box. I removed the glove box liner and removed it from its bracket. I got one from a wrecking yard from another 88 deville with digital speedo and DIC. The radio illumination is not 12 volts and when I wired it, it overpowered the BCM. If I remember, it cost about $40 and took approx 45 min. to replace. Hope this helps, Bill

to remove the dash and trim your gonna need to take out the ac vents and whatnot.

i have an 87' seville that had the same problem some time ago. i went to the local bone yard and plucked another DIC from a wreaked caddy for 5 $$$. it is a simple process, you just have to be careful that you dont damage the trim in you car, but other than that, it should be a cake walk for ya. good luck dude, illuminaP.:cool:
