The "Service Ride Control" light just came on my dash for my 03 Escalade. I took it to the dealer and they said it is the "Compressor Exhaust Solenoid", and wanted over $1200 to fix it. Can someone tell me what this means??? Do I need a whole new compressor, or can this part of it be fixed? Is this a fix that a handyman can do themselves or do I need to take it to the shop. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is actually the compressor, you can buy a new one and replace for less than $200 and 20 mins of time.

Can anybody tell me where the compressor is located?

there are dozens of threads here talking about this, however it's in the back of the truck on the drivers side. Look for the shock and follow the air line.
