The car is a 94 Cadillac Concours - basically it's a Sedan de Ville with the 4.6 Northstar engine. Has a new battery and the alternator works well; charges at over 14V and the battery stays fully charged.

Yet at times, the electrical system of the car goes dead & lifeless. No lights, door locks, and of course no starter either. This will NEVER HAPPEN while you drive. If it starts up you are golden, and can drive it all day. Once you shut it down however, it goes dead right away; you can't even lock the doors with the remote.

I have found that you can get the elect system to come back to life at times by turning the key in the ON POSITION for a few seconds. Once the dash comes up and there's power, it will start right up.

Suggestions greatly appreciated. (Battery cables clean, good, and tight)

Intermittent ignition switch maybe. Start by pulling the DTC's. You may find a clue there.
