Hey guys,

I'm looking into doing an LQ4 or LQ9 swap into my 93 burban. Anyway I want to be prepared with information when I do this. Which year models were the LQ4 and LQ9 made? Did all of them have the 4L65E tranny? This will be going into a 2WD truck, and I'd like to be able to drop it in and go without having to de-tune the 4WD from the start, from the information I've gathered it looks like a 2WD 6.0 was only offered in the 05-06 year models. And the 07+ is a 6.2 with the 6 speed auto with AFM. Am I on the right track with this info?

So far you are right. LQ4 is the lower compression 6.0 in non Caddy trucks and SUV's. Escalades 02-06 have either LQ9 6.0's or 5.3's.

I've heard you can swap the L92 heads straight onto the 6.0, what year did they start using those?

07 i believe. and yeah that's what i'll be doing once i decide to put some ported heads on my truck. All you need is a new intake to match the heads and to get 8 new offset rockers. you can use 8 of your stock ones.
