I will admit, I'm craving for some sunny 70 degree weather right now! All you Southern and West Coast V owners, I'm jealous!

Nice Mike, I can tell that the oem rims can handle some really skinny tires. Thats the secret to good winter traction - not so much the tread but how darn skinny you can get them. Do you know off hand what the rears are ? like 19 x 8 ?

I have not driven mine to work this week because of ----rain. Go, Mike.

But then again mine is black . Yours will look better after being in heavy snow than mine will after a few drops of rain.

Lol......tried it once in my STS-V, I ain't never doing it again. I had to park the car along side the road on the smallest of inclines and call my wife to come pick me up. Scary. If it even threatens to snow or calls for ice, the car is staying in the garage and I'll take my 4wd Explorer.

These tires aren't aren't any smaller than the stock sizes.

Here's a pic I posted in another thread previously.

I am running Pirelli sotto 240s. GM engineers tested winter tires and found these to be the best handling. Many M5/M3 owners use them too. I'm sure the Blizzaks will get the job done for you as well.

The tire sizes are:

F: 255/40-19 XL
R: 285/35-19 XL

Caddiedrummer,

I think my car is two-tone right now. Top half Gray, bottom half white. :(

Razorecko,

I keep plenty of Nitrogen on hand, but it's mainly for my in-car jacks! I may put a set on the V! :yup:

We tried a lot of different pieces of Aero trim. The smallest things can make the biggest changes, especially at warp speed. I'm anxious to see how the V handles at higher speed turns, but that may not be until March. :(

You should email me your high resolution pictures, full name, make/model, and location and you could be in a special section of the Jan/Feb issue of Domestic Driver of cars in the snow.

What email address would that be? The contact info from your home page?

Thanks,

The V2's T/C really shuts the throttle down in the snow. You can basically put the pedal down and just steer. When the car is well on it's way, the T/C doesn't just release sending you flying, it's very gradual. I have noticed at very low speeds in deep snow the rear of the car will push to the right. With quick steering wheel input (counter-steer) it does okay. I must admit wet, heavy snow makes it tough, but you wont be stranded (with winter tires). I don't think I'd venture 24/7 with this car in the Rockies, but around Chicago most of the streets get cleaned up pretty quick. The few times it doesn't I will still get home, just not as early.

^ not too mention that any vehicle unless they have studded tires will have problems in this ice/slush/snow crap we've had to drive through.
