Has anyone driven both and how do they compare in the ride department? I see the price and quarter mile times are similar but I'd like to hear about the ride quality between the two from somone in the know. Anyone have experience with a C63 AMG and the new CTS V? Thank you.

...i haven't driven either but i can't stand the cheapy looking interiors coming out of the benz's...even the amg's are disappointing...The only thing that makes it even semi nice is the leather stitched dash..thats it.

My opinion: C63 AMG=harsh. CTSV=Balanced.

I've driven both. The C63 did not have the performance package, which is supposed to be more stiff than without.

My impressions was that they were about equal in ride quality. With the performance packaged C63, that would no doubt be more stiff.

I would agree, that the C63 interior is nowhere near as nice as the CTS-V. The dash looks cheap, and there are not may options. I think the c63 looks much better from the exterior. The Caddy, especially from the rear quarter, still has that grandfather, mary Kay look and a little big.

^ agreed, I can't believe how much mercedes cheaped out on their interior. My mom picked up an '08 ML63 and yet my girlfriends lexus is250 has an interior 5x as nice AND solid as the benz...with the exception of the stitched dash..Obviously mercedes is strictly cashing in on its status image. It can also explain why i have never seen a car depreciate so much so fast as a benz. Ironically bimma's hold onto their value very damn well.

Having driven both, I can definitely say that the CTS-V rides smooter.

(Caddy salesman prefers Caddy! Film at 11!)

THANK YOU! I thought I was the only one who felt this way!

the ride is Stiffer compared to,even the AMG models in the past, havent driven the V

Also the C63 is missing proper rear seats , they are not made for adults
Is it just me or the back legroom is less than a civic

So does that make the CTS-V a "Smoot-Hawler"? ;-)

The Benz interiors are very plastique. It's like bizarro-world out there: Cadillacs today get slammed for shyte plastic interiors from 25 years ago, while the current stuff is terrific, whereas Benz's get nothing but praise while their interiors are Neon-esque cheapness.

I had an e55 wagon (2005) with a $93k sticker: how does a car that expensive have a "spray-on" rubber dashboard? I lost a lot of faith in MB, and in the car mag reviewers, after owning a few of these cars (and then owning a '72 280 SE 4.5, which was a *real* mercedes by comparison).

Note that as between the C63 and CTS-V, the CTS is a pretty tall car with a high-in-the-saddle seating position. That might detract from what some consider "sporty" (as in, low to the ground), but it makes the car much easier to get in and out of.

You still have to admit. That is one sexy little sedan.

The rear legroom is actually quite spacious compared with the new M3 sedan, which is its direct competitor.
