Hello, i just bought a manual online from Ebay. The price was good, around 50$ including shipping. It is the GM manual, pretty complete with electrical and resolving most of the code in the computer, and rebuilding the tranny.
However, i am not a mecanich and was hoping for a more "step by step" manual.

Can anyone recommend a good one??? Ive heard that Haynes arent too good.

I want a good book for the "common problems" ie. replacing struts, replacing brakes, step by step engine removal. Not how to rebuild the tranny according to manufacture specs! The manual explains extensivly ho to do all of this exept how to remove the damn tranny! lol.

I want a "Disable your 95 Seville for dummies" kind of book, do they exist?

Thanks guyz

Well I have Chilton's for both of my Caddies, but unfortunatley they are not very specific because they cover so many years/versions so you might end up looking at a picture of a 96 northstar engine layout when you have a 98 and it's totally different (in my case). I say stay away from them if you want specifics, otherwise they're really good as quick reference guides for smaller jobs. These are the closest thing I've seen to a "How to kill your Caddy in 3 easy steps, Oops and then fix it."

The OEM factory service manuals (FSMs) from Cadillac are very specific because they're for dealers/mechanics to repair the product to spec, if you just want to do it yourself good enough use Chilton.

Let me tell you though if you can get through the boring mumbojumbo of the FSMs you'll find that they are immensely more helpful. Thousands of pages of detailed step by step instructions, diagrams, EVERYTHING beats 1/2 page of unspecific comments half the time for the more complicated jobs.

Hope this helps!
