Well folks, I hope somebody can shed some light on this. I have a 1994 STS and the tranny leaks like a siv. Not only that but it leaks onto the exhaust and causes excessive smoke.....almost looks like it's on fire. I have searched high and low for this leak to no avail. The only spot I cannot see is the top of the tranny. What I'm wondering is, are there lines running along the top of the tranny? Cause if not then the only thing I can of other than that is a split case and I REALLY hope that's not the case. Any guidance besides taking it to a tranny shop would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Sean

Can't help with the leak but be very carefull as tranny fluid will flame when it is hot and hits a hot exhaust pipe. I had this happen to me on a truck that had been overfilled and when I slowed down after a 55mph run on the hwy it surged out the dipstick tube onto the exhaust and caught fire. Lucky I had no fuel leaks or it could have been bad.

Thanks for the FYI. It's been doing it for a while now and I've had no flames.......yet.
