I keep hearing things about performance gains with flowmasters. What would be the performance gains with just the two mufflers or a cat-back???

40s Sound good, but give a drone on the highway that
can get on ur nerves after a while, but it depends on whos driving and
how long you can take it

i have a good old 4.9 caddy, put a flowmaster 40 series on it and wow. good muscle car sound with that, as for performance, i think it will help a little bit, add a "high flow" cat, and you get the point.

I have 50 series delta flows on mine they tend to burp a little until they warm up but I really like the sound once they are warmed up also they do not make much more noise on the highway unless you step on it.

I have a set of ravin mufflers on my 97 ETC and love the sound. not too loud and very mellow on the highway.no drone.but when i step on it it gets noticed

I can handle a little noise.

If have 32X11.50 TSL thornbirds on my grand cherokee that make it sound like an airplane going down the road. ;)

Thanks for the input, What do you guys think of the price?

Have fun,
Kevin

i might have to remove mine real soon now, sounds like hell
forgot to mention, i have the flowmaster catalog.. says the 40 Series muffler is their most aggresve sounding muffler, rated as a performance street / strip muffler. recommended for Early generation Muscle cars, aluminized steel
(the Delta flow is 409 stainless steel) ..lemme see here, inside it should be about 4 times as loud as OEM.. and 7 times outside

I'm looking at that Ravin exhaust. I want something that is quiet when I'm going down the road or just putting around town. But when I mash the pedal into the carpet it growel like a muscle car.

kevin i think that flowmasters are overated, i'm not against them but people really look at them as the only performance mufflers, yes the do sound nasty but there are other brands that are better constucted and sounding IMO,like borla and corsa, yeah they cost alot more but you get what you pay for.
