Does anyone have extended warranty? With GMPPOnline.com? I recently got a flier from them and since I drive only 5k miles a year with this SUV, I can get warranty up to December 2015 / 75k miles for about $3k. Should I do it? The mileage is low but that essentially doubles the warranty years, and this is my weekend SUV. Any one has extended warranty (with them or not)? Should I do it?
I went with a 3yr/45k extended warranty with GMPP for $2100 when my truck was at 45k. I forget who I went through but I got the link from here. Price negotiating is possible.
I am personally against extended warranties but if you can afford it, it is good to have. I personally won't give away $2000-$3000 for repairs that may or may not occur, I'd rather pay for them as they come up. Just my opinion.
I just canceled my extended warranty with Continental. A side note, dont go with Continental Warranty. Just like yourself, I hardly drive the SUV much, only on weekends, so no need of paying $1500-2000 for something you dont really need.
when I purchased my 03 escalade, I purchased a 3 year 40k mile comprehensive gold warranty for a negotiated price of $1100.
In the first year, I had the front diff completely replaced ($2200), I had the rear diff and the axel replaced (1800) and just now had the fuel pump replaced ($580).
I still have 2 years left.....
well worth the money. My company is called Guardian...
Not worth the money if you can get the front and rear differentials checked or repaired under the original warranty. Just tell the dealer that you hear a whine under deceleration/acceleration. They are looking for work right now.
