dont know what to make of this .. missing vac. line looks like but where would it go from there...and this plug just hanging around i dont under stand ..

mabey if i fix both i will pull 20 more hp.out of my 84 sadan deville 4.1.....ya right

bbobynski hope you see this ...the book i got covers like 15 years of cadillac rwd with every motor but i cant find anything ..i have scaned many of you post and i see you got the skills so thanks to anyone that can help with this car runs fine but crap like this gets under my skin....

You're not missing anything except the foam block bleed filter on your EGR solenoid. No vacuum tube goes there & it should not be capped. You might want to see if you can scrounge up a little foam similar to the remnants, cut a block, then place it over the bleed port to prevent more dirt getting sucked into the solenoid channels.


I have never seen that black wire connector hooked to anything on a Federal Emissions spec engine.

I've got the same two things disconnected or missing on my 85 Fleetwood Brougham and that has always had me wondering for years what the hell it is???
