Well its almost done, now that I reinstalled the seat wont move. Looks like I will have to do some work but at least you can see what it looks like! I ordered the seat material and carpet already made for the 68, painted and dyed the seat backs. I had to do a decent amount of disassembly but it was much cheaper than paying someone to do it.
Next is the black dash and wheel I have waiting for install.

May I ask what steps you took to paint/dye the plastic seat backs. I have a '71 cadillac whose seat backs are faded, and I need to dye them. Did you use the SEM automotive paint?
And those seats are looking really good.

Looking awesome! How's about a windows down long-shot so we can see it against the flat black? Bet it looks sharp

Looks good but the vinyl on the armrest looks like it could have been stretched more and it would have looked better all black.

I just used some stuff I found at Jo-ann Fabrics, like simple spray. It looks better in person, the flash brings out the lighter spots in the fabric. I did have time to wait on better stuff and i can aways re-do it if it bothers me. For the Plastic Seat backs I just used some Krylon spray for plastics, make sure its clean (i used alcohol) and it worked really well.

Ill work on that if we ever get some decent weather!
Thanks!

I apologize for any criticism, you definately did a much better job than I could have.
I was a little nervous about it, I didnt do the cutting or sewing but all the assembly and stretching etc... it was a big task but, certainly not as tough as I would have thought. Just like anything else just figure it out as you go..
Thanks man!

can u repost the pics. I think they have been removed and i really want to see the outcome. I am planning on doing the same thing to my 1970 Deville Convertible. Except i plan on buying some 98' STS Seats and dying them black. Did you have any trouble?
All my pics are here. I recovered the old seats, I like the old school look of them. It was a pain but, nothing too difficult. I only dyed the backs that didnt get covered.
