: 09 CTS-V in "Transit" Status

I just got a call from my dealer and he said today my car status changed to "In Transit". The dealer said usually when a car status is "In Transit" it takes about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks for the car to show up at their door. Boy was I happy when he said it was "In Transit" as I thought it was in transit like when you track a package with UPS or FedEx meaning it will be here in a couple of days as I live in Ohio not far from Lansing.

On a side note my dealer reassured me that they are going to honor GMS on the ride, which is good as I already have my Authorization number.

<sarcasm> It's a trick to get your hopes up. Don't believe it. GM has been planning this all along just to piss off potential customers so they'll go buy a Ford or Dodge</sarcasm>

Just saw some leave the factory - maybe one was yours! ;)

I have seen several on the road here in Lansing now. The latest was a silver. Even in silver (versus black), it looks really menacing coming up behind you. Hopefully, it will never be made in AWD. If it is, I will have no choice but to buy one. I would have bought a GEN 1 CTS-V if it was available in AWD and automatic as well.

If it is, I'll be in line right behind you (or maybe in front, depending how fast I run)

Were they on a trailer or just being driven?

Not through me you don't! An 09 is not on my radar. I just keep getting teased as my office is less than a crow's mile or so from the factory and I see trucks and 09s Vs being driven more than most on this forum as a result.

Yes, to answer the other poster's qusetion, I have seen them both on trucks and being driven with no camo. I have seen two in the past 2 weeks being driven on 496 E in Lansing. A silver and a black. Both look incredible and like a force not to be messed with as they come up behind you on the highway. They look better in person from the front than in photos. Truly ominous. Trust me.

If you qualify for GMS you should already know it; the dealership will not give an authorization to you...they can't.

Yep, you should already know. GM has a website where you create an account (after putting in other codes your work will give you) and can get an authorization number to give to the dealer.

To clarify the facts about the CTS-V's these people are seeing on the road, they are being driven by factory managers not consumers. Furthermore, they are not part of the normal production. Shipping of the 2009 CTS-V will begin the third and fourth weeks of this month. This is not a high production car!

I have seen them on car carriers too. Where they were destined for, no idea, other than someplace East of Lansing.
