I did, but I couldnt quite figure out if I was the stupid one or the dealer since it's so obvious. I guess that just adds the kink of what else has been done that they dont know about. Also, any issues with warrenties and superchargers (im off to do a search, but im gonna go ahead and ask anyways)

Yea your prob best off taking it in to a Independent Performance shop and have it looked over. Is the Rear quite? Lots of clunks, etc? If your looking for a supercharged V than you might be able to get it cheap... How much are they asking?? How many miles, what Year??

As For Warranty's and superchargers they dont mix too well... It really depends on the Dealer, some people get lucky with a cool service writer. But you show up with a Blown Diff - and a supercharger chances are your gonna be shelling out some CASH.

Unless it's had frame damage or a salvage title, I say buy it and run.

Don't look back.

I went through the same thing... There was a supercharged V that I really wanted it was 2k more Than I wanted to spend but had 10k worth of mods... But after going back and forth about it, I decided I would rather build my own, and know whats been done, and how it was done. My V is also my daily driver, so I was really worried about down time with Supercharger woes, warranty concerns, etc.
But that is also a SMOKIN deal if its a clear title, with No Major Concerns. Main thing you gotta ask yourself "If I blow something up, Can I afford to fix it, and be without the car??"

Don't worry, we'll help you with the maintenance! We've collectively been through everything related to magnachargers and these cars so don't worry. Go drive it and if it works, buy it!

One of the nastiest maggie installs I've seen, and geez what are they driving down a farm road with the hood up.. you could plant potatoes under there..

Dealer says its not modded.

Is it a Cadillac dealership?

Maybe you could convince them to sell it to you as a CPO veh. :lildevil: I'm sure there is somewhere on the certification check list for a Maggie.

I agree with Dennis...that thing looks filthy. If they weren't savvy enough to do the maggie install right, who knows what kind of problems you might encounter. Plus I can't imagine the S/C being the only mod done.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

The vehicle is in San Diego,CA. Its an independent dealer. Damn, they raised the price to 23,9K. I think I tipped them off. Still sounds like a sweet deal. Its raining today so I will probably head out later this week and try to get extra pics.

The price increased to 23,9, so I think they looked into what they have. I also talked to local dealer and they said they wont honor warrenty if its modded. Oh well, I'll go the route that CtsVrod went and start stock. It would also be my daily driver and I want some peace of mind.
More pics. Its in San Diego, CA

I also noticed the V logos are out of place. Looks shady now.

Yea looks like they just moved the logos... But you dont want to inherit someone mess. Since your not too far away, I know of a Redline V for sale in Manhattan Beach... Really Clean, low miles. The Owner is looking to sell asap, he's come on a few of the So Cal Canyon Meet and Drives - His username is JoeArlo - Drop him a PM if your interested. After you get your V your gonna have to come up to Calabasas for the Canyon Drive

I talked to the dealer and they sent me the carfax that came back as clean. Only a couple title transfers (originated in AZ) and a smog check.
Here is the autotrader link I originally stumbled upon.I'm gonna pass and try to catch a stock V.

That looks like a nice car judging by the pics. It's also a heck of a deal at that price with a maggie. Since they originally were asking 19.5 there should be room to deal. I'd look into it a little more before passing that one up.

Meh. Looks like an engine bay to me. Not all of us give a damn about detailing our engines. In the only picture we have of the engine bay it looks like all 3 of my cars.

If they weren't savvy enough to do the maggie install right, who knows what kind of problems you might encounter.
Is there something visibly wrong with the supercharger install in that picture?

rand49er
11-05-08, 06:59 AM
Heck of a deal, IMHO. Easily worth the $19.9k they originally had it for. At $24k ... well, would have to take it for a ride and look it over real well. 38k miles isn't that many for a car delivered in Feb '05. If that's the original diff and if it doesn't whine (much), that would seem to indicate that it had been babied.

Having said all that, however, if this is to be your DD AND you don't feel comfortable maintaining it, then I'd pass, too.

aquill1
11-05-08, 11:11 AM
Keep in mind too just because that engine is dirty now I'd rather see that than when a dealer gives the thing a bath in armor all! LOL

Personally though I'd pass on a car that didn't have a supercharger on it when new, there's no telling what other things have been done to the car and chances are it has been beat to crap.

If I put upwards of 10k into a supercharger you'd think you'd spend $200-400 on tint...

Will cadillac deny warranty if there is an exhaust (mufflers or cat back) and an intake installed?
