: New CTS-V on next episode of Top Gear!!!

This has got to be one of the BEST automotive shows on TV today. The new season just started the other day and they did a quick run of what's to come in the next few episodes. And it looks like next week, they're going to be in the US testing "American muscle cars," and from the brief 5 second clip, it looks like a Vette, the Challenger, and a red CTS-V!!!!

This is Season 12, and it will be episode 2. I don't think it airs in the US but it is available everywhere on the web. Just be prepared: these guys tend to bash anything American, but from the clip, it looked like Clarkson was having a blast in what looked like the Vette :D

Cheers!!!

It is available on BBCA (BBC America). they recently had a show about the CTS-V but it was an older show about the first gen V.
looking forward to seeing their take on Gen II. thanks.

No worries, I had a look at the BBC America site and I doubt they'll have it on there anytime soon. They only appear to have season 6 and 10 and some random videos here and there. However, there are other ways...

We know the episode is coming as it was in the auto press here when they showed up in AZ to film it. :)

I understand www.finalgear.com is a good source of TopGear related material.

Not sure what Tivo would show or not but I just watched S12E01 last night and if you go to something like tv.com, it'll list the shows air dates. And looking at the next show for next week (S12E02), it lists the US muscle car episode.

I'll bet he rags on the first Gen 1 again, says how Cadillac go it right this time, and still complains about something on V2.
The Stig better run some seriously good track times or I will question his skills.
I like the show. I always watch it when I flip to it.
Those 3 cars should be a great show.

Hmm, I did check tv.com and see the new episodes, however the ones that played last night here were repeats! And I looked further at the episodes, the last "new" episode I watched was season 6! That episode aired a few months ago. You wouldn't happen to be overseas like in the UK or something?

From what we can tell, the three hosts of the show flew here to the U.S. (AZ) and drove the ZR1, CTS-V, and Challenger. So it's unlikely The Stig got his hands on the CTS-V yet.

Hopefully they run the V2 on a dry track (unlike the V1 which they timed in the rain!)

Yes, I am overseas right now, but you can always find these as torrent downloads.

OR, go to the site listed in the previous post and watch/stream the latest episodes there :)

Episode 2 of Season 12 will air November 9 and include the Challenger, CTS-V and the ZR1. It will show on BBC Two which may not be available in the US. I suspect youtube will have it by Nov 10.

just saw the episode

James May was, at first, very UN-enthusiastic about the V. Kept rambling how it's not a proper Cadillac and such.

After entering some twisties on the way to Salt Flats he starts to fall in love.

The only downside to the whole episode was that they didn't really talk about it much.

Yeah. I just watched also. Really ends up being very positive about ALL the cars. Probably the most positive TG review of some American made cars I have seen. Will be interesting to see them get them over there for the Stig though! Hopefully they make that happen this season.

Great cars in this episode, but I do wish they were able to do some testing.

Just saw the episode. Kinda sucks that Clarkson complained about the V1 in the last season - or was it before that. GM improved the V and he didnt even really do an in-depth on the car. I wish I knew they were going to be filming here in the bay area but oh well. what kind of RETARD is James may he crashed the car off the side of the road!! damn knucklehead.

I LIKE THIS VIDEO (especially when May in the V passes Clarkson in the ZR-1 ; ) best part is at 2:10 in the video

The V was definitely in the background compared to the ZR1 and Challenger. Hopefully they'll do a dedicated review of the V in the near future, including tests and a Stig test drive.

The V was definitely in the background compared to the ZR1 and Challenger. Hopefully they'll do a dedicated review of the V in the near future, including tests and a Stig test drive.I didn't think so. And I think May's disdain for the Cadillac was for entertain, er, I mean for factual purposes. Seriously, a lot of that is for entertainment and not too serious. Do you really think May was complaining about the car for hours, trying to win a 3 wheeler all night in Reno so he won't have to drive a Cadillac?

When Clarkson likes something as much as the ZR1, he will dominate the conversation. So if there was a little more attention to the Vette, I understand that. But I thought the Caddy got more time than the Challenger. And I got a kick out of May and Clarkson going at in on that back Nevada road while Hammond was languishing in the Challenger...

Don't get me wrong- I know that the whole bit with May and the Casino was a gag, but other than the part where Mays blows past Clarkson on the mountain road they just didn't talk about the CTS-V nearly as much as the other two.

That's all I'm saying.

Man that was great... I want a '09 even more now.

I got all emotional like a little bitch at the end when Clarkson said "We came wondering if America had finally made a car that might actually work in the civilized world. The answer is no, they haven't. As you can see from our smiles, they've made three." and they showed the clips from earlier.

And Capt. Slow overtaking the ZR1.. Wow! I was all smiles.

What a great show. I couldn't stop watching it. I like the way the ragged on everything in the beginning. Built by a couple of fat guys from Kentucky. Vette is Enzo fast? I am gonna have to drive one of those.
That was a very factually entertaining show.

Too bad they put James in the CTS-V... Jeremy would have appreciated it.

I almost spit on my monitor when James said.. "Well, what if someone see's us?" and then Jeremy looks around...

Then Jeremy pranks Richard... He's hilarious...

But in the end... smiles all around!
