I was wondering if its possible to clear the memory as far as driving habits and shift points? I used to be able to on my Avenger and it made a huge difference since the previous owner babied it to death.

On my Eldo it really doesn't like to shift down unless I floor her to the floor :hmm: Even if i let off and then punch the gas she still wont down shift unless I take it to the floor.. Now I'm not imagining this either so any advice would be appreciated!!!

Best bet is to get a factory service manual and go through the section on 4T80E transmissions which gives all the shift points and speeds for various throttle openings and engine loads.

Anything else is a guess.

So I take it the transmission has no adaptability as far as driving habits and adjustable shift points? :suspect: I find that a bit hard to believe considering my $23K cheap ass Avenger was fully adaptive.

The transmission is fully adaptive to any sort of driving conditions 24/7, but it calls the shots: you can't program it to any set value.

so what mine just feels like acting a slouch 24/7 :mad: I'm starting to dislike this Eldorado whats the point of having 300ft/lb of tq and 275HP if it doesn't let you use it? Damn this forces TC every where and the trans is a total bum what a great power train
