I got the V back from the dealer today.
They put on the winter tires for the soon to come snow up here
in the great north.

They replaced the clutch under warranty was a 4B build to fix the
sticking at high rpm......Nice, free clutch!!

Also they did the motor mounts due to a rough idle, they where
leaking the service report said. Think I will go with the aftermarket
mounts in the future if they leak agian.

The rear differential bushing was torn so it says they dropped the
differential and replaced the center support rubber with sleeve?
Is there a replacement sleeve or something new for the rubber
bushing now?

I complained about the shifter been loose and shitty in general
and they stated that it was "ok" and normal operation.
I told the service manager "you try to shift into gear when its
-30C outside" his response was "go to the Cadillac Forums there
is lots of information there on aftermarket units"
So UUC shifter & Lindsay bushings ready for install this weekend.

To add a little more aggressive sound purchased a Magnaflow
exhaust also to be installed on Sunday.
The car is operating like it was new again even though the wait
and service was utterly crap from the dealer, very dissappointed.

which dealer mate? I've been trying to persuade Marvin Starr to replace the clutch due to bad judder/vibration when shifting from 1-2 without much success. Though their service guys are decent wait times for parts (coming from Chicago) are pretty bad.

Got it serviced at Old Mill, was not impressed at all the wait time but
got everthing done on the list other then the crappy shifter.
The clutch build date has to be prior to 4M (Dec 04) to be under the TSB.

You'll think you're driving a different car after that shifter install.

I got a new clutch about a month ago too, mine wasn't sinking but grinding at first, and then would not go into reverse. They also replaced the pressure plate. New pinion seal, and I got a new radiator yesterday. Mine started leaking. Thank god for a warrenty.

Stock shifter is just plain shitty, so I don't think it's odd or poor service for them to tell you that there are better shifters out there. That's just me.

I know, cannot wait for Sunday to take out the POS.
Just hope I can get the stupid knob off the top, heard its hard to pop it off?

Just pull up on it. Comes right off...not hard at all. But before you do that remove the plastic base around the leather boot first. This way when you pull up to remove it's not connected to anything.

The manufacture date on the clutch must be prior to 4M (Dec 2004).
Mine was a 4B (Feb 2004), 4 is the year code and the letter is the
month code A=Jan, B=Feb etc. To fix under the TSB the clutch needs
a code prior to 4M marked on the clutch.

Thanks for the info, I read somewhere before it might be hard to pull off.

The only issue with taking the knob off is really the boot.
I take my fingers and put them inside the opening at the back, grab the trim ring and pull it forward (towards the front of the car) and up. The rear tabs will disengage, then lift up and pull it towards the back to remove the front hooks, otherwise you might break the retainers, THEN pull up on the knob and it should pop right off.
Once the UUC is in this will be harder, but do-able.
(the UUC is tighter on the knob than the OE shifter)

ICHEN What do you mean by judder? - I'm having a problem where I reduce spead and at around 2,000 RPMs I get a sound that sounds like chatter of teeth (that's the best I can do to describe it). I took it to a dealer and they told me it was the clutch but that since I had aftermarket headers, corsa exhaust and had it tuned that they wouldn't replace it under warranty. Does it sound like a similar problem to what you are having?

I get that some of the time. That's likely the POS dual mass flywheel. The shudder (not judder) I get is at 3-4k rpm when I shift from 1st to 2nd. Strong vibration throughout the car. Likely the diff bushing.

I get a vibration if I push the clutch in at speeds after the LS7 cluch set install. Im gonna try to get a new diff bushing next week too.
