I'm researching this new PAYD, (Pay As Your Drive), program where Onstar notifies your insurance company of your mileage once a month and you pay according.
I come across a blog where this guy states that Onstar works with GMAC Leasing by providing them mileage of vehicles near the end of leases in an attempt to reduce odometer fraud.
Could this be true? If so, yet another Big Brother watching thing. I understand the positives of Onstar but I don't like that at their will they can tap into your system or monitor your location. They say they don't, but who knows.
If you do not pay for Onstar can they still access your vehicle?
