hello everyone?

I have oil leaking so was told to buy a new valve cover set... So i did from ebay for like 25$.

i have no idea how to replace this but my little brother said he could do it by himself, but Id rather have him have instructions...

is this a relatively simple replacement or will my lil bro mess up my car? (hes not a mechanic by any means, but does know how to do minor fixes)

Any help/opinions are very much appreciated!

No, not difficult. Make sure he cleans all the old gasket material off the cover and the head. Then, thoroughly clean all oil from both surfaces. Then, use gasket sealer to glue the gasket to the valve cover. Replace the cover, and don't over tighten.

While the cover is off, clean the sludge out of the oil drain back holes in the head. Use a pipe cleaner. Check all the rockers and make sure none are loose. Check for broken springs.

You probably could have gotten those gaskets cheaper at the local parts store...
