Dealer has the two to choose from. Both are close in mileage , just under 30,000.... and pretty much identically equipped. I know more about Denali's but just bought and SRX so needless to say I am very impressed with that Caddy and wondering if I should stay loyal to the breed. Have been a GM guy my whole life. Only other caddy I ever owned though was A 76 Seville. Just kinda looking for some feedback from you all. I intend on getting a long extended warranty on which ever I choose. Anybody care to comment? All appreciated

I had the same discussion with my wife...05 Denali XL vs 05 Escalade EXT....well.....saying Denali sounds gay...but Escalade or Cadillac sounds good.

Really...thats why my wife chose the caddy.

Caddy has a few more extras over the Denali. I have had an 02 Denali and have an 05 Escalade now. I like my Escalade much better.

Is it time for this discussion again? Cadillac is the luxury flagship and the Denali is second tier. Cadillac has more hp and a better warranty. If you're interested in buying the top of the line, get the Cadillac. If you're more interested in saving a few bucks and can be satisfied with less then the best, buy the GMC.

Either way you choose you're always welcome here. Best of luck with whatever you decide.

... dealer not budging from 27,900 + tax.....

I bought a certified 2006 ESV Platinum Edition w/ 27,500 miles in February, 2008 for $38,000. Thought that I paid too much, but Moore Cadillac just wasn't going any lower. $27,900 sounds OK, but don't forget how much it's gonna cost to fill up w/ gas. I'm getting 12.5 mpg in town/14 or 15 mpg on long trips, so mileage is low while gas is high.

That's my input.

Thanks Hank.... I can say this about mileage and this is strictly by the DIC... I took it for a 100 mile trip up and down I-75 and got 18.7. I always set the cruise at 69. I am just not in a hurry anymore. But based on what you paid and the 27900 he's asking though not a steal it seems to be fair.

I'd go w/the Escalade just for the extra HP...assuming you have to buy one of these two. Unless you like the Denali's color combination better, or there is a huge difference in price.

Are these CPO'ed (i.e. 6 yr/100K warranty) -- or just factory warranty. If just factory, then you'll have an extra year to play w/on the Escalade.

If you don't mind what is the mileage on your new Platinum and what did you have to give for it?
