Most gargantuan spider I've ever seen that wasn't computer generated.

Those things and the Camel spiders our soldiers encounter in Iraq make my freakin skin crawl. Any spider big enough to eat a bird needs to be killed with FIRE. :flame::aj:

That must be one hell of a web to catch a bird like that

I'm not sure about Golden Orb spiders, but the other big spider in Australia, the Huntsman, is actually a helpful thing that you want to leave alone -because its favorite hobby is eating up the little, unseemly, and deadly poisonous spiders that also inhabit the land, in addition to other unwelcome things. It's not really poisonous either. I think unless you're alergic it's somewhere between a mosquito bite and a wasp sting. ... according to research, the Golden Orb spider's bite is about as bad as a wasp sting. I'd smash the fvcker if I saw it, but I'd leave a huntsman alone -they rarely bite people. Oh, just for refference, the Huntsman IS found in N. America, it's just not as common as in the land of the Kangaroo; a place I once heard described as having fauna that falls consistently into some mix of three categories -Poisonous, Weird, and Sheep.

Yeah, my skin is crawlin' too!

In that picture, it's hard to tell where the spider ends and bird begins, but you can tell by the legspan that it's a big mother-effer. I don't think I'd ever like to encounter one of those in real life.

Damn, that was freakin' AWFUL. I cannot stand spiders. Snakes don't bother me in the least. I respect them, but do not fear them. Spiders on the other hand spook me enough to piss my pants !

The footage you are showing is from the brown recluse spider not the camel spider and should be taken very seriousely. Do a search on this spider and learn it could be closer to you than you think.

Not - First of all a Camel Spider is not actually a spider. Second it is not venomous and would not produce such a wound. They are Psuedo Scorpions and simply chew/crush their prey with large mouthparts.

The biggest spider I ever saw was the size of my opened hand and had spun a web about 2-3 feet above my head overnight on a jungle ambush in Viet Nam. You can imagine my surprise when dawn broke and I saw him. I think he was contemplating having me for breakfast.

After I slithered out from under his web, he met the fate that Rolex suggested.

I googled them and it says they hide in closets, in shoes, under bed sheets, in your boxes that you store you stuff in, in shirts...I would friggen flip out if one of those was in my bed or in my clothes or in my shoes, I swear to god I would have a heart attack.:suspense:

Yeah I hear that Brown Recluse can be a real sumbitch to deal with, but thankfully for me, it tends to live more southern than I am. I guess they're a big threat in states like Georgia.

There are everywhere out here. I had to spray my wood pile to get rid of them.
I hate and I mean HATE spiders. If I die and go to hell, I would have to drive a Civic behind a guy going 3 mph under the speed limit with a spider riding shotgun for eternity.:bonkers:

Well just think though, on the positive side, you can kill those Brown Recluses with Raid. If you tried to Raid that spider pictured in post #1, it would just get angry and chase you across your backyard. :getaway::leaving:

.....and then it would kill you in your sleep.

I wonder what a 147-grain 9mm would do to the spider? :bighead:
