Well look on the plus side: the prev owner(s) obviously cared enough to take it in for regular service!

There's about 20,000 miles left on the warranty (or less than 6 months) and he's selling it to me for 26.5K$US with 4 winter tires and free oil change for life... remember that i'm in Canada so everything is more expensive. He is basically buying my CTS for 16K$US (3.6 + NAV + full equip with 45k miles on it).

Any comments on the service history?

Also please note , it is the dealership that is trading my CTS, not a private owner.

Don't see much on that service history that shocks me (with the mild exception of the power steering pump) nor anything that would deter me from buying the car. I agree with the above comment that it seems like someone was quite vigilant about getting things taken care of.

With a decent chunk of warranty left, you should be able to take care of anything that's been overlooked.

Since it's a dealership, is there any chance you can get them to throw in a set of FG2 shocks?

i would plop down a little more money or negotiate a warranty for at least an extra year.

Or if it's a Cadillac dealer, get it certified.

Wow, great response from the members, i like it!

My CTS also had its power steering pump changed, and it seems many CTS/CTS-V have a failing power steering pump at around 50k miles.

The car comes stock with FG2 shocks :highfive:

I will try to bargain an extended warranty, i'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'd take it. FG2s are a big plus, and if you can get an extended warranty out of it (usually easy to bargain), then I'd say you're about to make the best decision in your life upgrading to a V...

My '05 V's power steering pump went out at 24,000 miles - I had just left my factory 48 month warranty one month before (car was put into service June 8, 2004.)
My GMPP extended warranty took care of everything including a car rental because the pump had to be ordered. It's the only problem I've had since I purchased it new and the pump went out very suddenly - no whining, no warnong what-so-ever. It came as a total shock to me.
