: How about a CTS-Z ?

I removed the 'V' badging from my silver CTS to give it more of a sleeper look.
I am not a big fan of the V badge design or the appearance on the car.

Anyway, I decided it looked naked, so I put some Z06 badges (from a Vette) where the V badges used to be (non sleeper look). The brushed aluminum silver on the silver paint with the red Z look great (IMO) and the baffeled looks I get from people at red lights, who think they know cars is funny.

Not sure if I am going to stay with it or not, I will post some pics if my daughter ever gives me back my digital camera.

Has anyone else done this ??

PS - The badges are easy to remove if anyone else was considering....

Brushed aluminum on silver sounds like a good combo. Got some pictures?

May I have your V emblems? :)

So they're just "stickers"... no holes after you removed them i assume.

Hummm...different strokes. I removed the CTS badge on the rear...replaced with the Z06 405HP badge. Used the same Z06 badges on the red Z06 fuel rail covers after removal of the silver "shroud"

Used the same Z06 badges on the red Z06 fuel rail covers after removal of the silver "shroud" Do the "Vette rail covers just snap on like on the 'Vette when the silver shroud is removed? I don't really like the shroud and have spare rail covers.

So is it a CTS Zed or CTS Zee?

The pop-ons at the bottom of the rail covers snap on in the same place and the snap-ons at the top that secure to the fuel rails themselves also snap on...but not without a lot of "creative surgery"...the V has three lines crossing over the intake runners (with brackets) so you're going to have to some some cutting, shaping, and sanding. End result is worth the effort however...but still not as "clean" as on the factory installed Vette...but drastically better than the "shroud!"

Sorry, I have not checked my PC in over a week. I will try and post some pictures today....

To answer some of the questions.
1. There are no holes. All you need is a heat gun (or damn good blow dryer), and a putty knife with a soft cloth wrapped around the end. Heat well and slowely (carefully) work the putty knife wrapped in a soft rag ( I used an old all cotton T shirt) behind the badge. Patience..
2. I am not selling the V badges, but I am sure you can buy them thru a dealer or on ebay, if you want them. I do not care for them myself..But want to keep them in case I sell the car in a few years..

I use the dryer plus some fishing line to work behind the badge. It works really well and you don't risk scratching anything with a wrapped putty knife. :D

I give up trying to post pictures. Says the size of my file is too large.
If anyone wants to see pics, just send me an email address.

that's nice. i usually don't like the idea of putting badges on your car from another car, but because of the engine and everything, i really like that. looks real clean and really nice. good job!!

TTT ..

Several members on the board have been asking me to post some pics with my car, minus the V badge, but with the Z06 badge in it's place. It occurred to me tonight that someone back in June helped me resize and post the pics.

I finally did a search and found this thread. At the end you can see the fixed up pics..Thanks to Dreamin...

Anyway for those that were interesed in a CTS-Z, here it is....Sorry this took me so long to remember, getting old I guess..
