: KM per tank?

I've had about 3 fillups now and get slightly over 350 per tank in the city. Haven't had enough highway driving to know.

Any of you able to get 400km per tank in the city? How about highway driving? Can you get 450+?

I must say car is thirsty, but the growl and the classy look make it worth it.

I am not sure what caddy you are talking about, both my 98 Deville and my 99 Seville both easily got over 450km in the city, both also got close to 700 on the highway, in fact the Deville once hit 703 km and it still had 6 liters left, I regularly get 650 with the Seville, of course in Winter this changes by about 20 percent poorer. I thought with the Seville STS it would be much poorer with the 3.73 gears compared to the Devilles 3.11 but inspite of the Devilles heavier chassis and slightly bigger fuel tank, both come out around the same.

Mine is a CTS-V so I was wondering what others are getting. My most recent tank I got 428 before the warning came on. I assume one can go another 50+ km after the first low fuel chime?

Driving back from the Seattle area last summer I do remember after a fill-up and cruise set to 75mph (130ish kmh) on I-90 it said in the neighborhood of 340mi range (550km)... Driving like an idiot up HWY2 to Edmonton I got barely 350km (talking illegal speeds) then on the way home cruise set to 115kmh only took a half tank. I dont even keep track in the city cuz, well you know how it is, it sounds better and better the harder you are on the right pedal. But so goes the fuel, my worst is at WOT, the "instantaneus(sp?) fuel economy" reads 49L/100KM...

A better question would be the average gas mileage. I find I get pretty good mileage even in town as long as I don't get stuck in traffic. I keep detailed records of all gas mileage for all my vehicles. My in town average is about 14.4 litre/100km. Highway 10.3 driving about 115-120KM. At the race track, I had it on miles and was doing 10.2 miles per US gallon pretty good considering it was running between 3500-6000 rpm.
Most I have done on a tank is 586km using 59.8 litres averaging 84km/hour on April4/07 for a 10.1 litre/100 km. See, I told you I keep accurate records!

Hmmm, I am getting it tuned. I am closer to 15L/100km.

Not a good idea to get so low that warning light comes on. There have been threads on this in V forum. When light comes on you might have 20 miles before running out, if lucky. Bigger problem though is the gas cools the fuel pump. No/low gas pump gets hot do this a couple of times and it is hello new fuel pump. Of course it will fail at worst possible time.
My car is stock. I drive carefully to get mileage. Chasing a Mustang KR500 that blew by me in traffic cost me 0.3 l/100km.

Well after my headers/exhaust I'm now getting crummy milage like you BBB, something aint right in the last tune I recieved.... shame..... but when your eyes water as you back out of the garage with the window down, you know you're running rich :)

Yeah my old S4 was running rich after the downpipe change and not cats. CTSV running about 15.9L/100km.
What oil do you guys use? I put in Syntec as I plan to do an Auto-RX treatment. I am kinda overboard with Seafoam, AutoRX, etc etc. Want to make car run as efficient as possible. Will got back to M1, or may be Pennzoil Platinum after the cleaning cycle.

I'm using Mobile1 5w30, with amsoil filters. Was going to use Amsoil's Signature series 0w30 synthetic, but my limited driving per year means I'd be draining it with very few km's and its intended for long drain periods (18k mi). So far I'm at 1 oil change per year :) Got it done after the drive back from the states buying the car, then a couple months ago, only went 4k km inbetween.

My 96 Fleetwood Brougham gets 850 kms hwy, around 125 km/h and half that in the city. Once the fuel gauge reads 1/8 tank, I have less than 50 km to find fuel.
