so after installing my system, when i put the radio up when it bumps, all of my lights flicker as the bass is hitting. even the headlights.
so does that mean:

my whole car is vibrating that bad?
i need one of those capacitor things
or, a better car battery..

i had this same sound system, just 2 800 watt 12s and 1800 watt amp in my Scion tc, and didnt have this light problem. my guess is that the scion had a better car battery, because i didnt have a capacitor in that one either.

thanks in advance

cadillac cars have way more electrical components than a Scion im sure. I wouldnt be suprised if a cap. helped out a lot. i would try that probably a 1.5 cap. would do. i had the same problem in my old caddi, i just added a cap and all was good. but i also had a new batt. in the car. im sure some more thoughts will chime in

yea its kind of odd.. the scion was brand new, so it had a brand new battery. the caddy is an 05 with 30k miles, not sure if that plays a role with the battery. i want to either get a better battery or a cap depending on the input i receive, thanks.

your gonna fry your electrical system
you best invest in upgrading your big three...

well since everything is powered in a Scion just like a Cadillac that statement would be relevant wouldnt it?

this is a Cadillac it is not a Toyota, the computer and electrical system runs through EVERYTHING there is a computer even the SUSPENSION in the car, not on a Toyota, there is a much higher electrical demand on a Caddy than a Toyota...

and if you dont know what the big three is then i suggest you dont even touch the cars electrical system and find a professional...

capacitor= junk=waste of money

upgrade all of your cars power and ground wiring to 0 gauge
that means
the wires run to your battery, alt starter and ground to larger thicker wires...

thanks man, appreciate it.. so that would stop my lights, headlights from flickersing when the system is on?

yea
your drawing too much current for your battery/alt to recharge
keep it up and youll burn them both up

thanks.. so this is the only way? or is there any easier way like upgrading the battery, getting a better alternator or buying a capacitor wont do the job?

or is changing the wires to 0 gauge easy?

battery is stored power
it will just take longer before it starts to dim
if what i said wasnt the answer why would i bother stating it?
do what i said youll be fine

im sure there are "easier" ways
but those would be ways that would be more expensive like having a prof do the rewire, or one you wouldnt like as in removing the system

but the long term fix, upgrading the big three then moving on to beefing up the alt if the problem STILL persists

do the big 3 bigger battery and if you still have problems get a bigger alt. and the vibrating get sound deadener like Dynamat, Second Skin, hushmat, Raammat, and B-Quiet extreme are all good choices. Hush mat is what I used this shuff anit cheap but it gets the job done

This is a pretty sweet deal http://cgi.ebay.com/METRA-AK01-3600W-0-GAUGE-AMPLIFIER-AMP-KIT-BEST-QUALITY_W0QQitemZ120310808296QQcmdZViewItem?hash=i tem120310808296&_trkparms=72%3A1205|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A13 18&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Real 0 gauge wire dont get anything smaller bro, Metras good bang for the buck only 40 bucks for that kit. 0 gauge can be had all day on ebay.

Thanks! that would be enough wire for the ground, battery and alternator wires?
My question is, how many feet should I get to replace the big 3? 15 feet good enough or would I need longer?
