I have a 2005 sts with 6cd player and nav. after playing a cd anywhere from 15 seconds to 5min the player will begin to skip. is it time to replace this changer or is there possibly a simple fix

have you tried cleaning your cd player?:banghead:
( all mfg'rs states that cd players should be cleaned after every 40 hours of use.)

Is it still covered under the factory warranty? if so bring your car to the dealer for a repair and if not you still might have to bring it back for servicing.

I have a 2005 STS with Bose system and 6 cd changer with navigation
My CD player will only work when the temperature in the car is below 70 DEG. F
Above that the CD will start to play than quit mid song.
I have tried MP3 and CDA file formats and its the same thing.
Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this.

I've read here that dealers just swap out the full unit with a refurbished unit (depot maintenance). I'd be interested in the cost.

My wife's previous car ('98 STS) had a speaker issue shortly after she got it. We found a guy on the Web who rebuilt the speaker for $75. Cadillac wanted $250 for a replacement. It was as good as new!

He also rebuilt head-end units for $150. I'd bet there are similar people doing this work on the Denso units. If not now, then soon!
