Still in line and getting more info, this is the actual v that broke the record at the track that I'm not even going to try to spell on my blackberry! There is no backseat due to the roll bars inside the car. I plan on taking plenty of pics while inside and hopefully get some video as I break the rules that I signed, that I wouldn't break!

The drive was excellent! The engineer was given me the run down on the V while I was driving. He was telling me about the dif and how they had to get the "power hop" out of the new V, I asked him would the new Rear Diff be able to be retrofitted and he says they are working on that.

There are multiple driving modes for the auto tranny. If you just put it in drive, the car starts in 2nd gear. You have to move the shifter to the right to be able to start in 1st!

The paddle shifters are pretty neat, they're not like the ones in my old Grand Prix GTP, they're actually built into the back of the steering wheel. Speaking of the Suede Steering wheels feels soooo good:cloud9:

The sparco seats, tricky to get into, but hugged in all the right places after strapped in.

Still not trading in my V, but wouldn't mind having a used one after one of you guys drive it for a year or two.
Enjoy the pics, Sorry my cellphone camera is all I had!

not liking the dash or the gauges AT All compared to V1
dont like the flares at the bottom of the rear bumper
Interior parts looks extremely cheap, and I bet they feel that way too.
Not a fan of the interiors design either...seems like they completely took the sports car interior out and replaced it with fluff....this is what I was worried about the V2....its digression from raw nimble sports car into a heavy slushbox with a chysler 300 interior and a standard style clock.....give me a break! Looks like a DTS up in that bitch.

Damnit, I really am second guessing wanting this car after those pics

I dunno is that a joke? Are you tell me that that interior looks sporty? Come on now. That lkooks like the same steering wheel as in the dts except wrapped with suede. and the gauges are definitely lacking in style....seirously

Are those two part rotors on the front ?

Where both front and rear calipers discolor ?

Thanks for the shots !

This is the exact same car that the magazines and web sites have been driving and reviewing, and the same interior that has been praised as one of the best ever from GM. The thick rim three spoke wheel is completely different from the skinny, four spoke job in the DTS, and the quality of the interior materials in the Gen 2 CTS makes our current interiors look like Rubbermaid.

I couldn't disagree more with your assessment, and with all the exposure in the last 45 days, I'm shocked that this is the first time you've seen pictures of the car.

All Rotors were Gold in color due to the heavy braking!
For this to be the exact same car that's gone through all of the testing, I feel that the interior was looking good. There was additonal crap, installed for all the testing. such as a push to talk button on the shifter, that was used for walkie talkie communications during testing.
If I wasn't a V1 owner, I'd buy it.

the Porsche 911 GT3 has a suede steering wheel.. I don't know about your definition of excellence, but V2 does it for me.

for some reason I am getting a visual of the guy that goes on a date with the hottest girl in the world, and she's in heat, ...but he just drops her off back home at 10pm instead of banging her for 48 hours......:( :(

that silver one looks awesome....why the fender vents? who fn cares Ill take it. are you kidding...?

I know there are some hard core V1 lovers but cmon folks.......................... 550 supercharged HP,,,,, with a warranty.....:drool::drool::drool::drool:

"Looks like a DTS" :histeric: It does look more DTS than gen 1 V. The interior of the gen 1 V was haevily criticized, and yes the V2 interior is no resemblance to V1. If you want a race car look, go M3 with carbon fiber. You didn't mention the guages, but I think they are a let down. The rev tracers are nice, but the V1's are better.
I appreciate the V1 interior style, but the V2 interior is a step up in my opinion.

I like the car and the power but I'm not ready to trade the V1 yet. Nice car and I plan to have one some day but probably not soon. Not done modding the V1 yet and I'm not old enough for the slush box yet :D

The one thing I like is GM is actually working on the retrofit! That is cool and it's good to hear they haven't turned there backs on the loyal V1 owners

great stuff GM.

:hide: Visually, there a few things I dont like. The use of alot of grey plastic, with chrome trim looks really cheap to me. I also agree the rear bumper looks goofy, from directly behind in those photos, but we all know photos can distort the car. Ill be painting the trim black or body color, and I might think about a different bumper...

just nitpicking tho...

Sounds like some folks are just getting tired of waiting for the car to get public.

My personal opinion is the interior of the V2 is leaps and bounds above the V1. The STS-V is that for sure.
Now if someone can look at this car and not like it, well each individual has their own tastes and no product appeals to everyone.
