Well technically its a Dynolicious Run...
I downloaded the new app to try on Niks ipod touch that i bought her after raving reviews about how accurate it is.

Well on the way to school i was able to get 2 good runs in and heres how the 03 STS with Corsa & K&N Panel Filter stacked up

Weather Clear Night
Outside Temp 80 Degs

Info on Car that is inputted:
Weight 4200 lbs with driver
Drivetrain Loss 25%

These are the results according to the Ipod for the runs
Results of an Average of the 2 Runs
0-10 .92 secs
0-20 1.86 secs
0-30 2.94 secs
0-40 3.97 secs
0-50 5.21 secs
0-60 6.76 secs
0-70 7.79 secs
0-80 9.40 secs

Elapsed Time:
60' 2.65 secs @ 25.8 MPH
330' 6.66 sec @ 57.8 MPH
1/8 9.62 sec @ 79.2 MPH
1000' 12.24 sec @ 93.1 MPH
1/4 14.59 sec @ 88.6 MPH

I'd heard about that program, never tried it.

The drag times look somewhat inaccurate. A 2.65 60' is horrific, I bet taking it easy you should easily get a 2.3, and with a decent hook on a good surface and skilled throttle modulation, a 2.2 or 2.1 shouldn't be out of the question. And IMHO the MPH on the 1/4 time is probably about 4-5mph too low for that ET on a FWD car...especially if the 60' was that poor.

for what it is a 14 dollar app id say its a decent indicator to say the least
again though it was the average of two runs one of which i had a hugely hard time hooking up (sucks on gravel roads) so that likely skewed them a bit
i suppose i should post individual results for each run maybe?

ive got to disagree on one small subject. the worse the short time usually means more mph. If you have a shitty short time then you have more time to build MPH.

That was what I was implying in my post. The MPH on the trap is too low, even with a decent 60'. Would be even higher on a bad 60'.

Thread title misleading, Dyno run is not equal to Accelorometer run, but it's cool you can use your Ipod Touch as a G-Tach...

Apparently it's better than a G-Tech. The guys at Garage419 think so, after their testing:

Plus in the video they show that the Dynolicious software's HP estimate was within 5HP of the dyno run they did.

accelerometer's readings are only as 'accurate' as the inputs you provide, if Jay weighed his car with himself and fluids and whatever other material in there, and knew for sure what the drive line loss is, assuming the HP rating is accurate, most dyno runs of N*s have shown a trans loss anywhere from 25% to as much as 30% it just depends case to case. I'm not doubting, just saying there's a lot of potential inaccuracies and claiming this is as a 'dyno' run is misleading...

factory weight is 3996 LBS
i figured with me half tank tools etc im pushing 4350-4400 lbs
i was told by the makers when i contacted them if i leave the dt % clear ill get wheel HP
weight and % loss are the only inputs
today was a really shyty run and i got a 7.08 0-60 and a 15.02 1/4.

why would your 1/4 be a lower trap speed compared to your 1000ft?

does it tell you when you've completed the 1/4 mile?

emits a beep with to be honest is rather hard to hear over the Corsa at WOT
