: Found Another (Silver) Phaeton on Sunday

09-02-08, 07:46 PM
I was camping with friends this weekend in a remote part of the province, but it stormed so hard Sunday, we road-tripped to the nearest town for some indoor activities.

On the way to town, found a dark blue, average condition '88 Brougham, but couldn't get the camera out right then, so I kept cruising.

On the way back to the campsite, I saw a silver coupe and stopped to take pics. Turned out to be a Phaeton in reasonable Nova Scotia condition. The second Phaeton found in this province in one month (see thread about the sedan),... sort of strange since there are so few Cads around here anyway.

As you can tell, I love the mirror thermometer option... and I am jealous of my lack of one. I'm not jealous, however, of the "STREET RACING" sticker, or the chain-link license plate frame. I'm not sure if the car was for sale. It had a temp. permit sticker in the window.

I'll let the pics tell the story:

END O' STORY. Didn't see that cat under the car until I put the pictures on the forum. Wow. :hmm:

Check this: the weird HIDDEN CAT thing has happened to me before. Two winters ago, while checking out a '70s Lincoln TC coupe... damn Kitty.

Nice find. I wonder about the driver's door being a slightly different hue than the rest of the car.

I love those silver phaetons! Looks almost lowered? HATE the chain lic plate frames! I just put new shocks and springs into mine and I love how it sits now. The cat pics are hilarious btw! Looks like it has the same rust spots as mine do, right under the phaeton top. Nice!

The different color door would bother me. Usually means substandard body/paint work. Silver is one of the hardest colors to match. I backed in to my moms car (with my truck, not the Cadi!)and when she got it back from the shop the hood was a bit lighter than the rest of the car. When I saw it, I told her to take it back, but she isnt bothered by it that much... so she left it. I inspect cars at an auto auction, and dealers wont touch a car that has body work like that.

I'd just like to say I'm officially looking for one to buy.

That looks neat aside from rust issue

Check out the Jim Pattison badge on the deck lid. Jim Pattison is a Vancouver G.M dealer so it would appear that most of that rust is gen-you-wine Pacific Ocean generated.

You seem to have unique cars in Nova Scotia,I've always wanted to take a road trip trip to Nova Scotia, if you supply the lobster I'll bring the beer.

Robin Banx: Neat that you identified the dealer! Cool to know this car's origins.

Creeker: If you come out I've got a whole computer full of pictures of cars I've found around here for you to look through. Bring plenty of butter for the lobsters and you've got yourself a deal. :D Let me know if your road trip dream becomes reality!
