I'm just wondering, as my overall goal is to create a mean sports sedan and i'd like to have a manual. Preferably with six speeds.

Sure. It has been done before, and there are posts about it on here. These days, you want the F2B bracket kit, and the crossmember from Bow Tie Overdrives (or Clear Image Automotive). Not sure if they are now doing a D body specific one, so you may have to mod it to work in the D. You would want a rear gear change (3.73s at least, likely 4.10s or 4.56s). You need a 93-96 T56. Be aware that the 93 has a couple of different gear sets depending on the trans option code, and a lower torque rating.

I love my T56, and if you have more questions, just ask.

Yes, it is possible. Thus far there has only been one T56 Fleetwood and its current status is unknown and all the old pictures are now down.

I went through this debate recently. I priced out everything with used/rebuilt and new parts. Depending on who does the labor and which parts you use, I came up with $4,000-$7,500.

I decided to go with a built 4L60e and performance stall which ran me $2K installed. The money I saved went into my 'new car fund' for next Spring ;).

I actually found a page with the full swap details and pictures. Was this the one you were referring to?

Yes, that is the one. He sold it almost 3 years ago now.

Yep, and it looked REALLY cool with the console he then built and even matched the rest of the wood with:

I almost bought it back then when he had it on eBay.... I offered $10K and he sold it for $13K. It was a nice piece of work, too bad it didn't go to anyone on the forums.
