View Full Version : Molding on Shift

Have an 2008 STS 4 weeks old with 800 miles on it. Got in the car Friday afternoon and noticed the molding along the shift on the left side is popping up badly. Is this glued down or does it snap down. I tried pressing it down but it does not fit snug and won't stay completely down. There is a gap showing and it looks like shit.

Now I know it under warranty and the dealer will fix it but has anyone else had this problem. The car is brand new. At an MSRP of 54,000 grand you'd think the quality would be superior. What the hell am I missing here. Needless to say I'm pissed off that this happened. I know vehicles break and all that crap but they shouldn't when they are brand new. (Also had an 04 DTS brand new and the door handle pin fell off on the inside of the door within a week). What gives with Cadillac. I thought the quality was getting better.

Breathe... just bring the cadi to the dealer, they will fix it. Hope that is all you ever have a problem with.

Sounds like you need to upgrade to Bentley or Maybach.
