Hello... I am new to this forum, so go easy on me... I just bought a 2006 DTS. I would like to upgrade my radio to an oem navigation, i've seen the kits on ebay, w/ the ant. vss harness, ect.... But i am not sure it my car is compatible, i read somewhere that the bose system was needed to be able to do this upgrade, is that true? I've worked in car stereo for the last 10 years, so the installation would be a walk in the park, and i know the dealer needs to program it, but i dont want to buy a unit to later find out it is not compatible. If someone can help me out, i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

I am not sure that the BOSE system is NEEDED for the NAV...BUT... I have never seen a NAV system in a DTS that DIDN'T have BOSE.

The problem with updating your audio system to BOSE, is that BOSE uses a totally different speaker system than the base radio.

Maybe ewill3rd will chime in... he will know if it is possible.

I noticed that they all have the bose system, but someone told me the radio could be programed to work with the non bose.
