Bart--post your question here http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/lindsay-cadillac/ . Maybe Luke @ Lindsay can help. Good luck.

Typically the dealer parts department determines how to order paint in my experience. They will ask for this code if you go in to the dealership to purchase touch up paint. If the dealership in question, particularly their parts department, can't tell you where the paint code is, I think I would look for a new dealer.

The code is on a sticker on the bottom of the spare tire "trap door" in the trunk. You know that flat piece of black plastic with carpet on top that covers the spare tire? There is a collection of part numbers there. Any competent parts department should hopefully be able to guide you as to which one it is.

I know what you are saying about the dealer...but get this....I called GM and they cant get the code either. I just keep getting the generic "other" code for the paint. No one really knows what the code is because its the chromaflair option. Kind of a pain in the ass, but it looks good. Thanks for the info, I will check the trunk.

All my dealer asked for was the VIN number and from that he got the paint code, in my case Dark Cherry. Didn't have to search out the specific paint code.

P.S. When you do eventually get it, I'd be curious to know what name is on the paint jar. My Dark Cherry was labeled something like Tasmanian Dingle Berry Blood....

Ya, pretty much like the Cadillac "stealth gray" is called "blue granite metallic" on a Chevy. :D

Seriously, I don't know what to say about your dealer, or the people that they employ. Except that they shouldn't be selling or repairing Cadillacs. Truly shameful.

Here is the information that they couldn't provide you:

2008 DTS - Titanium ChromaFlair - Color Code 99U - Paint Number WA-368N

Thank you for the info...I know what you are saying about the dealership....but....they couldnt confirm that the 99U was the right color...neither could Cadillac. It comes up some blazing metallic gunmetal silver blue pearl flake or something like that.

Thanks again!

The code that ends with U (as I understand it) is the base color.
The 4 digit code (the only one on the label) is the process code. That tells the painter HOW to paint it to get the right finish and appearance using the base color.
You must have both codes for an accurate paint match.
