: Another TNR800 Question

I did a search and perhaps I just missed it. I'm wondering if there is any known firmware version for TNR800 radios (OEM or otherwise) that will allow it to play DVD's? There seemed to be some discussion on this in one other thread relating to the Denso nav units in the SRX. I couldn't find anything on the Delphi units in the '03 - '06 C/K body vehicles.

Also, are there any set-up / service diagnostic modes accessible through the front panel controls?

Unfortunately the GMT800 TNR doesn't have a MPEG decoder, so you're out of luck on that one. I can't remember 100% because I haven't done it in a while, but I *think* the diagnostic menus were accessed by pressing nav-rpt and holding config for a few seconds until the screen changes.

Thanks for the info guys. That is what I suspected since none of the ones I've had to date will play a DVD. What made me curious is one I bought off eBay. The seller specifically told me it played MP3's and DVD's. When I questioned this, I was told he had just tested it before removing it from an H2. The other flag that went up is I don't believe the TNR800 fits the H2 (IIRC). I bought it regardless because I'd already had experience with these radios and felt I knew what I was getting.

The TNR800 (and the INR?) for sure does fit and was offered in a H2. The H3 however uses the TNF.

Yes, my mistake. I had the H2 and H3 confused. I thought the new style head unit started back in the H2 days.
