Does anyone know of a source for a bra for my 1987 Brougham.. I understand that it's not a "shelf" item for anyone..... but I can't even find any custom shop that can make one. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Just make sure that, when you find one, its the sheer type so you can tell when her headlights are on........:sneaky:

It's a flower car, kind of a weird alternative to a hearse.

I haven't seen a bra for them. The only thing that I can think of is the GM bug screen. It is a big screen that covers the front of the car from the bumper to the hood emblem. At the sides, there are elastic loops that you use to attach it. My father bought one when he first got the 84 that mom still drives. Used it once because he didn't like that the edges flapped in the wind.
You need a bra only if your front end is sagging.

Actually, the Carfax revealed that it was born as a regular 4 door Brougham & was converted by an aftermarket coachworks in the middle '90s to this layout.... there are a rare few others out there. While the conversion work wasn't 5-star engineering.... it is mechanicly sound, looks, runs & rides great, and is a major headturner everywhere I take it. The bed has alot of good carrying space... but sadly no fold down tailgate. All it all, it is a practical driver that gets 20+mpg and I don't ever have to endure any of those "I had one of those back in blah, blah, blah stories" ... nobody had one of these :-) .... but I would still love to find someone that has/can make a bra for it.... my long 80-90mph runs through the AZ backroads cause bug splatter that takes a damn hammer & chisel to clean up.

Harry,
I have the 3M clear plastic bra on my 2006 DTS. I think it is great. Makes it a little easier to clean the front end and you don't have to worry about scratching the paint when trying to get the bug juice off.

I dont think there was ever one made for these. As most of the front end is chrome and lights. Very little paint on the immediate face. They do have those queer bug deflectors that mount on your header panel and is usually a transparent piece of plexiglass that stands vertical. Old timmers loved them in the day. Ugly IMO.
But the black leather ones, dont exist for these cars.
The one jay is talking about, i have one for mine. Its similar. I bought it at the auto parts store. Kind of unversal. Screen mesh type that has elastic hooks to wrap around the nose. but does flap in the wind. I used it on my limo going to Canada, traveling at night. Ohh man it was PLASTERED by the next morining. LOL
