View Full Version : 2009 DTS arriving at your dealer now! I took my 1993 60 Special in today for ALOT of servicing. While there....HELLO 2009 ! 5 DTS on the truck. Absolutely ZERO changes. ZERO !! They are identical to 2008. I saw a "Double Experesso" and 2 Pearl Whites and 1 Black and 1 Blue Chip. I looked inside, & the same thing. 100% identical.
I also saw an allready "landed" 2009 STS. I like the STS better, but it's SOoooo much $$$ !! (I still prefer the current Town Car.) More room in the interior, and more CAR features. Caddy has more High Tech features for the owner to play with. I wish Caddy would bring back a Fleetwood or a Sixty Special or a Brougham - type Caddy. If ya put a 1992/3 RWD Brougham next to a 2009 DTS or STS the DTS or STS looks like a Chevy. Buick is GM's new American boat division, it seems, especially with the Enclave being a hot seller. ryannel2003 08-18-08, 03:50 PM We haven't gotten any 2009, but from what I read they added new colors (Blue Diamond, Radiant Silver, and Grey Flannel) deleting Mystic Grey, Light Platinum, Sunset Blue, and Titanium ChromaFlair; they are adding the following:
Speed Limit Notification with speed alert on (U3R) Navigation radio
(UBS) XM NavTraffic
Body-colored, roof-mounted OnStar/XM antenna
Generation 8.0 OnStar with Bluetooth connectivity
Heated and cooled seat switches on door pad for improved daytime visibility
Express-close on sunroof
Ferritic Nitro-Carburizing (FNC) process prevents rust from forming on brake rotors
Changes
Redesigned, larger and fuller headrests to help minimize the risk of severe injury in the event of a crash
Steering column lock now standard
Outside rearview mirrors with "Razor" turn signal LED's and brighter Side Blind Zone Alert cons
Display enhancements to (U2K) XM satellite radio on (US8) and (US9) audio systems Blue Diamond came out mid-year 08. The other features are minor. I looked at the rear, the sides, the wheels and the front end, and saw no changes.
The dealer also sells Buick & Pontiac. Has a huge huge inventory. Car I liked the best, hands down is the Pontiac G8 "GT" ~ that car is totally tops ! GM is trying to make Cadillac into BMW when all it had to do was just make it a better Cadillac. Cadillac without a Fleetwood Brougham or a nice big convertible is just a joke. Cadillac should take all its N* crap and stick it up its tailpipe. I mean, I like cars like the CTS-V but I consider more of a Chevy type musclecar than I do a Cadillac. A real Cadillac to me is a big, long solid piece of American iron, chrome and all . Playdrv4me 08-19-08, 10:33 PM Cadillac has lost itself. Well apparently this strategy is working like gangbusters, why screw with success?

Never heard anyone call an XLR "small".
Cadillac should take all its N* crap and stick it up its tailpipe.
They are. The Northstar is as good as done. No reason to keep harping about it.

It's called an Escalade. hardrockcamaro@mac.c 08-20-08, 06:28 AM Cadillac should take all its N* crap and stick it up its tailpipe.
Considering it's one of the finest engines ever made I think that's way off.
Isn't it even on some top 10 list of all-time best engines? I'm sure I read that somewhere...
Personally they should have continued with the all-new v8 plan. Buying a Cadillac and finding it has the same engine as the Chevy you had previously is hardly prestige. If Mercedes, BMW and Audi can afford to keep bringing out new V8's I fail to see why Cadillac can't justify it. TulsaVic 08-20-08, 12:31 PM Pity they couldn't incorporate the variable displacement system on the Northstar. Would have extended the (fuel consumption) life considerably, giving you both V8 performance when needed and V6 economy.... $4.00 a gallon gas sure changed the rules...but it's sad to think of a Caddy without a powerful, wonderfully sounding V8.... Body colored XM/NAV antenna!!!! Wooh!!!!!!!! Who is trading up from their outdated 08? Body colored XM/NAV antenna!!!! Wooh!!!!!!!! Who is trading up from their outdated 08?
When I brought an 09 CTS home for a loaner, someone said it looked like a dolphin fin. It's ugly. pompste 08-20-08, 10:57 PM Amen to that. Cadillac has lost itself. Man,i agree 100%,on all points. You`re description of a real Cadillac is dead on!
There was a time when other car makers would follow Cadillacs lead. Now Cadillac has become a "follower".We`ll never see chrome again on new rides and these new Caddy luxury rides(DTS/DHS) are`nt even real "sedans"--they`re not even wide enough to seat 6 adults anymore. The bodylength on the luxury rides is "moderate" at best.At least they`re not as short as the late 1980's Caddy luxury rides. If memory serves correct, the length was 195" in the late 80's----and now 206-7" is the longest.
I know many who want the "Fleetwood" and/or some type of convertible Caddy. ryannel2003 08-20-08, 10:59 PM I took prefer the old black fin. New one is too big...
We got our first '09 DTS in yesterday. Blue Chip w/ Titanium interior. They've also changed the Luxury I, II, III designations to be in line with other Cadillacs: this one had the "Premium Luxury Collection". Had almost every option available, including the Radar Cruise. Stickered for $55k. I'd never pay that for a car that'll be worth $30k in 2 years. Superjim 08-21-08, 09:12 AM Stickered for $55k. Agreed... but it will be a heck of a deal at $30k with low mileage and CERTIFIED from a Cadillac dealer. :)
I have probably bought my last NEW CADILLAC. I have had several new ones ... down theu the years.
I will be retiring in a couple of years and low mileage CERTIFIED seems like the way to go.
Let someone that has more money then I do.. take the big hit for the first year or two. :) | |
