Hi guys, this should be an easy one. From what I hear, the 1978 Cadillac Fleetwood has three seperate horns, I think the notes are A F and D or something like that, but when I honk my horn, the only sound that comes out is a very high pitched and soft sound, almost like a clown car! I called my friend who knows old Caddies and he said that most likely the horns just wore out and the only one left if the highest note. He had a set of horns laying around from another 78 Fleetwood and he practically gave them to me. He said I should be able to see the horns, and they should be near the wheel well on the drivers side? He also said something about a green wire. I see a green wire, but I don't see any horns near the wheel well. I do however see something that looks like horns right in front of the radiator pretty much, seems like I would just have to pop off the metal piece that holds the radiator supports, yet he said I shouldn't have to remove anything. Hoepfully someone can tell me where the horns are!

Open the hood. In front of the hood latch and in back of the front panel, there are two plastic cover pieces with about ten fasteners holding them. The horns are under this area on the radiator support. The "D" note horn is still available from GM. If you need the part #, Let me know.

Usually, when horns don't work, it is a bad wiring contact. Look for corrosion on the positve wire connections, and clean and lube the grounds. I have gotten "bad" horns to come back to life by doing this...

I thought the longhorns were mounted just in front of the hood above the radiator. Do you live in Texas?
