I'm looking to replace my 99 Olds Aurora As the daily driver it has 158k miles and no problems, just scheduled maintanence. I"m keeping the Aurora, but I want to get something newer with less miles for traveling. It looks like the DTS will be the best Caddy to replace my Aurora. I had a Bonnevile and an Aurora but GM has since killed those and I want a DTS before they kill it too! Is GM just trying to piss us off or what? I looked at the STS but it seems to require more maint. than the DTS. Is this safe to assume? DTS is the only Cadillac left that you don't have to look twice to know it's a Caddy.

I think a DTS would be a good choice if you want a large comfortable automobile.
I love mine.
This is my second 2006 Performance Sedan.
The first one burned up when my garage caught on fire.
It had over 35,000 trouble free miles.
This one has 40,000 miles on it and -0- mechanical trouble.
Had it to the dealer a couple of time for minor glitches... mostly electrical.

You will be making a wise choice with the DTS if you want a full size Cadillac. I have a STS and I only have had minor things go wrong with the car. There was nothing mechanical or electrical with my car. Mine is a 2006. I would love to get a 2009 STS as that is the last year for it. I love the car.
Welcome to the club.
A Certified Pre-Owned DTS would be an excellent choice. Another possibility is a CPO Buick Lucerne CXS or CXL V8 which are built on the same platform, and in the same plant as the DTS. You won't have the 100K bumper-to-bumper warranty, but will still have the 100K powertrain warranty. The prices on these cars are usually at least $5K less than a CPO DTS.
