You are soooo right but I doubt Katshot is going to let him sell it.:alchi: Blackout 08-15-08, 06:30 AM You are soooo right but I doubt Katshot is going to let him sell it.:alchi:
I've already talked to him about it and at first he was going to offer to buy it off of me but he decided to just let me sell it. They have a two car garage tent where it's being kept with our restored 1986 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. Mom decided she doesn't want the garage there anymore so they're going to sell the Mark VII and I have no place to keep the FTS so my only other option is to sell it. I love the car to death but I never drive the thing much anymore. But once I will set a price soon. I might just throw it up on ebay autos but I dunno yet urbanski 08-15-08, 06:45 AM buy your own place w/ a garage and keep it Blackout 08-15-08, 01:30 PM buy your own place w/ a garage and keep it
I can has monies to buy said place? urbanski 08-15-08, 02:42 PM get a job? Blackout 08-15-08, 04:25 PM get a job?
I just got out of college in May so the money that I get with selling the FTS will be going towards getting my own place. But it took me over a month and a half to find a job (damn economy) so I've been working for a little over a month now. So all my money is going straight into the savings account. I don't want to sell it but I just don't have the money to support two cars right now. But having my 1995 Taurus is the best thing for me right now. $63 for 6 months insurance, full sized sedan, and gets good gas mileage plus just having a brand new transmission put in and with those Vulcan V6's being good for over 300k miles = great car for people on a budget Night Wolf 08-16-08, 02:30 AM How are you paying $10/month for car insurance?
I used to pay $10/month on my '79... but that was classic car insurance Blackout 08-16-08, 07:09 AM I have liability only for my Taurus and the Taurus is the cheapest car to insure in the country. For 6 months insurance for it it costs me $63 which is ftw Night Wolf 08-16-08, 11:50 PM Wait..... was the FTS the one with the swapped T-56!? I was going to put a T56 in my '96 Fleetwood until I drove my buddies T56 Impala SS. It was nice, but felt a bit ackward. The cost of the conversion runs between $3K-$7,500, depending on how and who does it. They burn through clutches too. I ended up getting a FLT Stage II 4L60e ($2K) built and am getting it installed on Friday.
I figure for $7,500 I could buy a nice Porsche 944 Turbo ;) to get my manual fix. caddycruiser 08-18-08, 10:35 PM I figure for $7,500 I could buy a nice Porsche 944 Turbo ;) to get my manual fix.
Aye, yes. I've always thought a 6-speed B/D body was interesting...but it also still seems like something that's more than a bit at odds with the car. Or at least especially the Fleetwood if it hasn't been pretty significantly modded, otherwise.
Sad to hear about that 6-speed Fleetwood, regardless, if true. It was the car I modeled mine (and now yours) after! Destroyer 08-19-08, 12:07 AM Destroyer.:hide:Hey that FTS is my kind of Cadillac. Its the N* crap I dont like. Destroyer 08-19-08, 12:08 AM hahahahaha

Asking price: $12,000 96Fleetwood 08-19-08, 02:21 PM Thanks for the info and price. It is out of my price range at the moment, I am trying to work a deal on a 1989 944 Turbo S.
I would say try eBay, but you might want to set your sights around $6-10K. The forum purists most likey won't bite, and the SS forum guys would rather buy a SS at that price. I put my friend's modded 1995 on there recently:

Take care,
EliasMake sure you take lots of pics of the 944 when you get it Elias. I prefer 928's but the Turbo 944 is sweet. I remember underestimating one when I bought a new 6 speed Z28 back in '94. He didn't beat me but he was coming up strong. We took off the line and I had a good couple of car lengths on him and to my surprise he closed that gap to less than 1/2 a car length by the time I hit 90mph. He may have beat me if we took it any faster than that. I dont believe that 944 Turbo was stock though. Playdrv4me 08-19-08, 10:39 PM Thanks for the info and price. I agree with Elias, it's a beautiful car but the market will ultimately set the price for that car and it's not really a car you ever get rid of for that reason. This and I'm assuming it's got well over 100k miles now? Keep it, like Ian said, its one of those cars you cant sell because you will never get what it is worth to you for it. In the end you'll just regret "letting it go" AlBundy 08-20-08, 01:08 AM Keep it, like Ian said, its one of those cars you cant sell because you will never get what it is worth to you for it.
