Hey all, forum noooob here. Well after lusting over a V for a year or more, I just pulled the trigger on one last week. I got an 06 raven black V, with black interior. I got it certified so I am good for another 86k or till 2012. Cant beat that warranty with a stick.

I come to the V world from the 5.0 world (gasp) because I just got tired of the car needing something else EVERY time I took it out. It threw another code a few weeks ago, and that was the straw that broke the back. My wife said lets go look for a car (so she didnt have to hear any more of my whining and b*tching).

My wife absolutely loves this car, which helped in the convincing department. :alchi: She loves the interior, loves the power, and loves driving it. She wouldnt touch the 5.0 but she is all over the V. It is just an awesome car... but you all knew that already!

Yeah I know, needs tint. It is going in tomorrow. I just got done with the !CAGS mod, and my next step is to read up on shifters. This forum looks like the place to do it!
Later!

You can't go wrong with the UUC, Katech or B&M shifters, they're all great. (Some just more expensive)

Congrats you'll love the v. I also kept my 5 liter (93 cobra) it doesn't break though as it is never driven only 500 miles in last 3 years just sits in the garage next to the v. exhaust is another must have although you will loose about 1-1.5mpg as you'll want to hear it howl.;)

Welcome and enjoy the forum. Tremendous information here and lots of very intelligent/experienced people.

First and foremost, get a tune (dyno/road tune is best choice, then followed by mail-order tune). Not only will this improve performance noticably, you can ALSO DISABLE the skip-shift feature EASILY (thereby not needing CAGS at all).

Just food for thought...

After the tint, !cags and shifter, lose the chicklets (little GM badges). Best exterior mod I've done to my car yet.

Welcome to the most important website you'll visit from now on! Great looking ride!

I'd say: tint, shifter, exhaust, tune, s/c, heads, cam, and lower that 4x4!
