Are there more than one type of drivetrain for the STS?
Did I see RWD, FWD, and AWD available?
What is the good year to get? Is 2005 a good year?
Engine type? 4.6 N*, or V6?
Is the STS bigger than the DTS?
Thanks

The STS, like all 6 sigma platform cars is a rear wheel drive, no front wheel drive.
There are AWD models available as well.
V8 and V6 engines, but the AWD was not available in the V6 until the 06 model.
All the STS's are good from 05 to 09 year period. You just can't get a 05 AWD with a V6 that's all. Check out the testemony of the thread here called "87K and bulletproof" it is of a 05 owner in NY, great read!
Don't know if the STS is bigger per say than the DTS, I would say they are close to the same size.

The DTS is almost 11 inches longer and just over 2 inches wider than the STS.

Line up a DTS and a Sigma N* STS side-by-side and you will be amazed at how much the bigger the STS appears. Then get in the back seat. What the hell? Where did the space go?. Open the trunk. What the hell? Where did the space go? Then jump in the driver's seat and romp on it and dive into a decreasing radius off camber turn with a little trail brake oversteer and SMILE.
