I'm new and have been reviewing the posts to see if there was a topic I fit in. Since I don't see one I'll just start one! I'm in Amherst, MA and have an 86 Fleetwood Brougham that belonged to my Uncle in Houston. I've had it for 10 years and really love it. I have spent lots of time and money restoring and maintaining the car and just about had it all done. Then a few days ago I was going down I91 at about 70 mph when the front left tire blew. I ended up with a lot of damage in the area of the left front wheel well, bumper and driver's door. I need the rubber moulding on the front left bumper, the aluminum rocker panel mouldings both in front and behind the wheel well, and the chrome trim around the wheel well. The rest of the damage is just body work! Junk yards around here are no help, they crush them as fast as they come in. I'd appreciate any help out there. Much thanks and I'm happy to be a part of such a great group. - Richard

Thanks for your reply. For some reason, even though I am a paying member I am unable to send personal messages. The error message says I must make 20 posts before I can use that function. I could easily make 18 more senseless posts but there must be another solution. Maybe you could try sending me a personal post?---Thanks ----Richard

Thanks for the PM - 1990CaddyBrougham - I apparently can receive PMs but not send. I'll be calling you. This is my 3rd post, only 17 to go before I can PM!

Thanks to 1990CaddyBrougham my car is at the body shop being put back together. Just one more small problem. The driver's door seal. I have tried to replace it with factory replacements but for some reason they are mismatched and do not work. Does anyone know which of the after market seals available will work on an 86 Fleetwood Brougham? Thanks - Richard

I am having an engine problem with my 86 Brougham, smoke under the hood. I have replaced the VC gaskets and that did not solve the problem. Just got it out of the shop yesterday and they say it is blow by due to several leaks. I priced an engine replacement at NECO, $4,500! Needless to say I would like to find another solution. This is a stupid question (I think I already know the answer) but has anyone tried or heard anything good about the Bar's Leaks & Reslone products? They claim to have a cure for this problem. Rp
