: What I Drove Today...

Well technically my mom drove it, but I did get a chance to. It was an '08 STS V8; White Diamond w/Cashmere interior. My mom's Yukon XL needed some work done, so while that was happening they gave her the STS to drive (I work at this dealer, so that might of helped; though her and my father have bought 7 vehicles from Trent including my Seville). Always happy to see a dealership treat people good! :)

Anyway, I really liked the car. Very good looking, though my Seville is still the looker of the two. Interior is nice as well, very well put together. I still feel my seats are more comfortable, and since my car is wider its a more substantial feeling car. Had lots of power, and the handling beats the shit out of mine. Car doesn't crash over bumps either, though its been told mine rides better (I don't see it). All in all, the STS continues to grow on me. Enough talking dammit, here are the pics:

Haha... they did have a Silver STS w/Ebony interior. But I picked out the White b/c I knew my mom would like it. Plus, she isn't a fan of darker color interior. She's crazy.

While I agree that yours is the better looker of the two, the new style STS is really starting to grow on me, especially the post facelift models. I like how you took pictures of the two to show how they compare and contrast each other.

All of you are wierd. White diamond with tan interior is the BEST. [I'm not biased at all, btw]

Ryan: you really are in love with your car. Any excuse to show a pic or 7 of it eh? :)]

And I do like the new STS, I don't see why it hasn't sold well.

Haha, hey I can't help it! I went from driving a Toyota Camry (great car, but you know, not fun) I'm sure it will wear off one day... eh probably not :)

But yeah I think this color combo is pretty damn great. Of the STS colors, there are 3 I'd have: White Diamond, Crystal Red, or Thunder Grey. All the other colors are a wash. I've never understood why the car hasn't sold well; much better built than our cars with more features. I think the older people don't like the sportiness the car has to offer, so they go for the DTS. The CTS is cheaper with similar features, and handles better.

The Seville had a better selection of colors; my favorites were: #1 (Tie) Crimson Red & Sable Black, #2 Polo Green, #3 White Diamond, #4 Sterling. So even my car wasn't my first color choice; I still salivate when I see a Crimson Red STS. Somebody in town has an '03 and when I see it,

I absolutely hate crimson Sevilles. I drove an 01 while searching for my second seville. It had no power, drove rough and was lacking a sunroof, plus, i wasn't feeling the color at all.

Nice. I really like how the new STS's look. I like the pre-facelift ones better though. What I don't like is all that plastic garbage under the hood. What happened the old days when you could see the engine and all the components that make the car work. That is more appealing to me than a bunch of garbage plastic pieces in the way.

Your Seville had a nice clean engine room. Shows respect for the entire vehicle.

Love the pics.

Lucky you ! When mine goes in for service, I get a two year old base model Impala. Even has a bench front seat, and comes with the crumbs from the previous driver's lunch.

I love my 05, but the room in the rear sucks. I had an Altima before, and my dog crate would fit with plenty of extra room. It won't even go through the door opening on my STS.

But I love my car! Getting black and chrome Foose DF5's any day (hope they are in tomorrow)!

You know I was thinking the same thing. It looks really cheap and unappealing. Btw, I love your Deville.

Thanks. I had just pressure washed it the day before, and for awhile it was running really bad because of a misfire. First time I've ever had that happen with a Northstar, and I've cleaned about 20-30 of them. Once that was over with, car ran great. Idles smoother too! :)

Damn that is really lame. If you drive a Cadillac at my dealer and need a loaner, we give out Cadillac's. If we happen to run out, we'll take one off the lot.

Rear seat room sucks in my Seville as well. My previous car was a '00 Toyota Camry and it had more room than my car, and was 10" shorter.

I agree with the poor look of all the plastic under the hood, but it helps keep the interior quiet. Besides, nothing good looking lies beneath. Take it all off and it looks like a bunch of wires were thrown on top of a plastic air intake, lol. Now, the engine of the new BMW M3 with eight throttle bodies is absolutely beautiful.
