I talked down a 2005 CTS-V from a dealer to:

-28K out the door
-32K miles
-extended warranty to 100K
-car is immaculate

Is this a deal?

Seems pretty good... I got my 05 for a little less, but had about 3k more miles... Is it a CPO?

It's not CPO. That's why I had to make sure to get the warranty. Are there any things I should look out for with the car before buying?

I'd say it's a fair deal. My '05 had 36k miles with 1 full yr remaining on the factory warranty when I bought it in Jan for $26,800.

Check the fluids. If the clutch fluid looks like jelly, is cooked, or the reservoir is dry then it's probably a sign of it not being maintained as well as it should be. Do some low speed hard turns in reverse and listen to the rear end for a grinding sound. Also check for a whining coming from the rear at about 45 mph and light throttle. Those could be signs of a differential in less than good shape.

Check for a leak under the radiator ( a common issue ).

I got my 04 for 20K it has 46k on it no extended warranty though. Guy needed to get rid of my car pretty bad so I got a pretty fair price. Carfax and all came with it. Sounds pretty reasonable to me. Thats the average price from dealers I think.

I bought an 05 with 8400 miles for $25295 plus tax, title, license. Clean title, clean carfax, clean car. There are great deals out there, just need to find them. Luckily mine was only about 150 miles from me. But compared to most V's on the market, your price does seem good. And your price is out the door with taxes and all too, so actually it's closer to $26k before fees. I'd say not a bad deal at all. BTW, whats' CPO??

I would talk them down some more. I got mine for $30k with 17k miles and the certified Pre-Owned 100k mile warranty. That was last November, nearly a year ago. The deals should be much better by now.

There are 3 in the cts-v classifieds 1 same year 2 newer and cheaper. may or may not have 100k warrantee but you could negotiate that as their asking price is already lower before negotiating. just an idea.

If you break it down, I think I am getting the car for like 24500 before TTL and the warranty.

Just be careful with the warranty... Are they selling you some Aftermarket warranty? Do you know what it covers, deductibles, etc.? I've heard some horror stories about people getting the "warranty" with their cars, and they come to find out its not factory, and the item that is broken Isn't covered....:rant2:

^^^What he said. MAke sure of the warranty wording. I bought my cpo 05 in May for about $29K, with 16K on the odometer. And be sure to check out all of the stuff mentioned above. BTW, they are a blast to drive. You won't be disappointed.
