I was thinking of powder coating my grill black for a while now. I didn't know how it would look on a silver car and have been trying to get some one to send me a pic if they had one or could find one. No one ever did. I came a cross a old friend last week who said he would do both the top and bottom mesh for $30 so i did it. while i was waiting for it i used paint on the pc to color in the mesh black so i could see how it would look. i did half the grill so u can see the difference. hope i helped some one out and if u have any questions let me know.

To be honest, I didn't think I'd like it. After seeing it, I like it. That should look pretty good. You might want to get some silver touchup paint for the whiskey dent/rub on the fascia.:bouncy:

Either fill the holes or put the front plate back on.

:yeah:

Once i got past the holes i could take a look at the grill, I think the black grill would look really good, much better than i expected.

Any tricks to getting the grills out? I am doing this Monday. Any hints are appreciated.

I've always wondered how a black grille would look on a silver V. Looks pretty good.

their is three circle black push tabs that hold the top of the grill in place. they sit closes to the front of the grill on top. it is impossible to take them out without breaking them. i broke all three. cost me 75 cents from Cadillac. after those are removed their are about 6 push tabs on the front and bottom grill. they have a indentation on the side of them. you have to pop the locking tabs off with a flat head. after u open the top of the tabs u should be able to pop the whole tab off. i had to use a flat head threw the front of the grill on some of them. then you can remove the mesh by yanking on it from one side. then on the bottom grill u remove all the same tabs and remove the plastic shield on the bottom of the motor so it can come out threw their. if u have any questions let me know

I haven't looked at the emblem closely. Does it just unscrew?

no. they are stuck on with ahisive tape. i used dental floss to remove mine and it worked great. the emblems have prongs on each side so u can only go tell the dental floss hits them
