Just got off the phone - extended another 2 years / 50,000 miles, and cost me $1705.00 with a $100 deductible.

would have been $1400 with a $200 deductible, or $2000 with a $0 deductible.

I shopped around for a few days to find that deal; curious what the rest of you paid, or expect to pay on an extended warranty.

what’s the current mileage and year of the car?
I got a good deal, but that’s because the service manager told the guy I work for GMPP and I have a copy of the dealer cost book, makes negotiating hard.

Hey, Bigron, not to divert attention (too much anyway), is it possible for me to get an extended warranty out of them? I've still got six months to go, and I should still be under 50k miles at that time.

nice, didn't know they even had a $50 option :-/

i hit 34,000 miles yesterday, and my warranty expired the 21st of this month

coincidentally, yesterday was one year to the day that i bought my car :)

My warranty just ran out last month, even though I only have 9100 miles on my 05. I went GMPP Majorguard 60 mo./50K miles with $100 deductible for about $1400.

Well that is a great question:
Can you get one: yes
What will it cover: very little

Power adder, suspension work, aftermarket wheels make it easy to deny a powertrain claim depending on the dealer. A/C, window motors and things like that would still be covered. Not worth the purchase unless you have a dealer that will work with you or you know the adjusters.

$50 ded is only for cars over 36k miles, there is no 0 ded option.

Mystical you paid less than MSRP, which is a lot better than what most people pay.
I really don't want to say much more than that. I would have probably went 0 ded for the extra $295, because Im sure I would have at least 3 claims.

Most people shop the online GM dealers that sell GMPP.

Sorry I should included all eligibitly:
If it was purchased after October 1, 2007 either 2004s and/or cars over 36k miles only have $50 available

They group cars current and 3 model years. ie 2005 - current, 2003 - 2004. Cheaper rates and $0 options are only available for the current group.

That is why I purchased my GMPP at the end of September to get the cheaper rate even though my factory still had 4,000 miles left.

I purchased my '05 in June, 2004 (new.) At that time I purchased The GM
Major Guard (extended to 2010) for $1,200.00 - -0- deductible. I am now operating under that warranty (haven't had to use it yet, knock on wood.)
