It's kind of complicated but the new DTS is a result of:
1. Purchase of a used STS that we just couldn't get used to(ride too firm)
a bill for $800 just to fix the XM radio and the dealer's comments that
there were some problems with the rear suspension and I really didn't
want to know what it was going to cost to repair it :+).
2.Trade of the car for a 2008 STS on the condition that my wife had to like the ride. It was better than the 2002 but--still too firm, so we turned it down and the salesgal was getting pretty fed up with the Cadillac carousel we'd created down there.
3. Finally driving a DTS that we really didn't think we wanted because it
was larger than we like, loving it and deciding to go ahead and do a deal
the same day.
When the smoke cleared I ended up putting $10,000 down($8,000 for my
trade which was the same the Buick dealer offered me on a new Lucerne
and $2,000 more than CarMax offered to buy it for) plus $2,000 cash.
It's a 2008 Luxury 11 that was stickered right at $49,000(don't have the
papers in front of me) and the lease we worked out was on the basis
of 10,000 miles per year, the $10,000 included taxes, tags, etc. plus
the first month's lease payment and a cost of $397 per month for the
36 month lease (making 35 payments)
Given the circumstances (my interest in the car and in finally getting something done so I could quit shopping around) I feel like I probably left a couple thousand dollars (maybe more) OUCH! on the table.
I'm really asking for it I guess, so somebody here can make me feel really
bad the deal or maybe a little better Either way I'd like to know.
For NEXT time....:+)
