Hey everyone. I have been lurking here doing research for my next car and I decided that I will trade my 2006 TBSS for a CTSV. After looking at many cars I think I have finally found one that I may pull the trigger on. It is a 2005 Platinum silver with light grey interior. Has 35,000 miles on it, all stock except for tint, under warranty til 06/09. The dealer is asking $20,900. Does that sound like a good deal to you if it is in good condition? I plan on going to take a look at it this thursday after work. I have never seen the light grey interior on these cars, any one have pics they can post up? I really wanted a black/black one, but the price on this one is great so if its in good shape I think I will go for it. Anyways just wanted to introduce myself to the community here, hopefully ill be a proud new onwer soon and will be able to contribute here.

That is an extremely low price for that car. Have you seen it close-up yet?

Price sounds too low to be true. You know what they say about too good to be true right? I know they are going at dealer auctions at 25K so you should expect to pay $26K+

Do a vin check and you may save yourself a trip.

Something is fishy. Definitely get the VIN and ask for the service history report. The only reason I can think of for the car being that cheap is a salvage title.

i agree, do a VIN check. light gray interior? i thought they only came in black and tan.. unless you are refering to the roof of the car

Spoke to a salesman today on the phone...apparently has clear title, which I will obviously check to confirm. He said that it was a GM buyback or something on a lease I think. He said the price is low because their dealership lists their cars for the bottom dollar they will possibly take, no negotiating at all, take it or leave it at the listed price. Im gonna go take a look at it and drive it. How can I get a service history check done??

I hope that it's not a buy-back from a lemon claim. I find it hard to believe that they are discounting it nearly $7k just to move inventory.

EDIT

I just saw the service history report. That looks like a lemon car. Three CUSTOMER CONCERN NOT DUPLICATED entries, then a dealer buyback. Be interesting to know exactly what those "customer concerns" were.

What the heck does that mean?

Ok it was a buyback but I don't understand the jargon.

Looks like the car had a bunch of piddley crap wrong with it but not serviced for any of the known "problems".

It is a buyers market...

Luster explained it as a lemon law vehicle. I think it is listed that way because GM took it back on their own.

But for what? The three customer complaints not duplicated were really far apart both in mileage and time for it to be that I would think. And the only things that they replaced more than once were the radio and the dash integration module. I don't get it.

He won't be the first person I have heard of who "used" the lemon law to beat the depreciation.

That's just messed up...It's a car for crying out loud, it's going to depreciate.

Some people have no conscious or scruples.

They work the system and could care less.

I ain't telling you anything new.

People is people.

Some good some not so......

The guy I knew did it with a Vette which he drove for a year.

A real ASS.
