I went to Bowling Green Saturday for the NHRA Hot Rod reunion and saw this...

There were about 3000 cars at the Show and Shine and a LOT of vintage gassers and rail cars on the strip. I think the coolest car I saw was a Ford Thunderbolt with a 427. The sticker on the inside of the door said "special acquisitions vehicle" and was orange with black trim and BADASS. Also there was an original 1969 Shelby GT500 in bad need of restoration and of course MANY MANY Camaros, GTOs and Chevelles.

There used to be a lot of exhibition racers that toured below the Mason-Dixon line with this kind of stuff. I remember a dragster that ran on compressed air. Another that used electricity from a couple of wires strung down the track. E.J. Potter had a motorcycle with a Chevy small block. Somebody asked him why he did it and he said, "Because the hillbillies go wild over it".
