Here is a RAYS wheel that I like a lot. Right now it's only a 20" and doesn't fit the standard CTS but one can imagine, no?

Gave a deposit for a set of Sevas forged 19" rims from the wheelexecutives.com group buy that ends June 16. I'm deciding between styles R77 and G77 and polished or gunmetal finish for a radiant silver car. Any opinions?

Wondering how much camber they are running as the lettering is almost worn off?! Since you cannot rotate front to back they'll be no credits from the manufacturer like there was with the GY runflats.

Depending on the weight I wonder how much weight a wheel can change and not effect MRC shocks?

Get the specifications on the wheel and we'll raid the parts bin! :)

How about a little retro look?

Maybe add some lake pipes. :D:D:D:D:D

Actually I like the ones above painted gunmetal. Won't show the brake dust as bad.

Did a little more research on those since I'd never heard of them, and there were quite a few who said to stay away from Tenzos in general. Cheaply made and not so great QC seemed to be the consensus. I probably won't go with those, but that's definitely the look I'm after.

It would appear the GM designers disagree.

Again, I think stock chromies would look fantastic. The gunmetal finish is very, very nice. I can see the stock wheel might be an issue with curb rash or automatic car washes.

This is my first post, but I'm really excited about the new V. I used to own a modded Lexus GS400 and am conaidering the new V when it comes out. I think these wheels would look great on the '09 CTS-V. I saw this photo on Clublexus (courtesy of Seize), so I hope he doesn't mind. I modified it a little.

My plan is to put my stock M5 wheels on it complete with Hamann center caps. Along with the BMW bolt pattern, hopefully GM copied the hub bore and offset. :D

I wonder what widths we're going to be able to fit, front and rear?

I'm hoping for 20x9 fronts and 20x11 rears with 265 30 20 and 315 25 20 T1R's.

When my personal 09MYCTSV comes in I am going to either put these on
http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r134/ctd3rnd/zx3p-decopy.jpg

or these

http://i143.photobucket.com/albums/r134/ctd3rnd/st3p-fltblkdecopy.jpg

I guess it really depends on what color I end up with. Either Black/White/Silver..jury is still out. But these in a 20" with max width fronts and rears coupled with the titanium lightweight mounting hardware and a couple of other lightweight features...that should do it for me.

Thanks,

Dr. Design

Dymag makes Carbon/Magnesium wheels. They are about 2100 each, and are REALLY light. I plan on getting a set for my GTR. I should get about 50-60 lbs in unsprung weight savings. Free up some extra horses to.

For the CTS-V, if you are concerned with shaving wheel weight, I would get the same size as stock. The 19s, will probably shave of 10lbs on each corner. However, I think the stockers will be around 28 lbs, which is pretty light. Remember, you take a pot hole with a set of Dymags, there is a good chance you will crack it and lose the wheels integrity. I would not use these wheels on a DD. There is always so much road construction in my area. I plan on tracking my GTR, so I am not worried about curbing or hitting a pot hole on the track. I will just need to be careful, on the way to and from the track, and on the occasional late night drive.

Dr Chill

The Dymags are crazy light and really cool. The place that does my tire mounting/balancing also mounts for Mosler Motorsports which is nearby (Dymags standard on the MT900 Photon). I have picked up a Dymag box thinking it was a spare box for me to use to ship a rim, but when I opened up the box, much to my surprise, a wheel was inside! I think they are overkill for the track unless you have some serious $$$ to spare. CCW's, albeit a few pounds heavier, are much more durable and repairable.

19" forged Sevas 3 piece rims for me on the CTS-V to save weight and cash. I'll use the stock rims with Hoosiers for the track, that is if my wife allows me since it is her car.

Anyone know the bolt pattern and offsets yet?

I think the Audi 20" QS Split 10 wheel would look amazing on the V2, if the bolt patterns and offsets are correct, or even find a company that would do a special order for them. Maybe push them to the outside 1/4" to 1/2" from stock, and have wheel widths of 9" or 9.5" in front and 10.5" or 11" in the back, with some dish to the spokes in the rear.

Has anyone ever seen the Rotational Inertia listed for a wheel? It seems nearly impossible to find a weight much less something useful like rotational inertia.

I recently read the review of the D3 CTS AWD on Road and Track. Weird review with the different class of cars, but very good reflection of your product. My jaw dropped when I read about the eight-piston calipers and the OnStar incident...

Good to know you do work with Forgeline. Any problem getting colored wreath and crest center caps??

Dr. Design

Yeah it was pretty cool! The cool part is we have the "onstar incident" on video and will be releasing that soon...(Very funny!) As for the logo'd center caps, we have a few options for you when you are ready to move forward. The combination that you see pictured on this car is about the most you can go without any modification. When we get our CTS-V we might try to squeeze a 305 in the rear with a few mods....But we will see.

Thanks,
